What are your beliefs?

  1. Before you attribute any misunderstandings that have occurred to my inability to comprehend, perhaps you might consider taking some responsibility for your poor grammar, lack of proper punctuation, and over-all articulation skills deficit.

    When I asked of What you may or may not ask for in your deepest moment of despair, the answers can come from a broad array of possibilities, and not just some silly old emotional support.

    You see, the support one asks for or receives in their deepest moment of despair, may go far beyond any kind of emotional support. It may not even have anything to do with emotional support.

    In your deepest moment of despair, your very existence is on the brink and the type of support needed may be unknown- right up until the moment arises. It could be, a tourniquet, medication, a rope or buoy, perhaps a weapon, or just a drink of water.

    The type of support provided in an unknowable moment of despair could very well be physical, and possibly even supernatural.

    Am I at fault for not correctly being able interpret "ok", as a "whatever- talk to the hand" (valley girl) type of response, or that you no longer saw value in continuing our dialog??

    Usually (at least here in America) when people say "ok", it means "I can agree", "that is fine", "I understand", or "it's all good".
    Perhaps you just need more practice using the English language properly, before you decide to engage in a public debate. Then there might be a far less occurrence of misunderstanding that can easily be attributed to your lack of communication skills.

    I simply said that I believe you "MAY" carry with you false beliefs, but that more information and dialog would be necessary for me to have a better understanding of what exactly you are trying to convey.

    When I say, "I believe you may have false beliefs", that is just another way of saying I am unsure (or skeptical) that you know with certainty what it is you think you may know. I'm saying there is a possibility that you may be overlooking some of the information that's necessary for you to make your confident proclamations with any sort of accuracy.

    The desire for education was entirely for my own selfish purposes. I often rejoice at the opportunity to actually learn something from someone else's thoughts, and experiences.

    It becomes apparent you are incapable of learning much when you make statements such as these.
    This tells me that from day to day, you may learn new skills like, How-to change spark-plugs in your truck, or new trivia facts such as, ____ amount of people were killed last year while drunk driving.

    It seems to me what you are clearly stating is that you are unwilling to change your beliefs about whatever it is that you have already made your mind up about.
    This does, however, seem to be contradictory to what you have already shown us.
    Obviously a delusion, as you soon realized after it was pointed out to you that, in fact, you did not earn your tongue to speak with, nor your teeth to bite with. After some contemplation, you were seemingly willing to alter your beliefs slightly to:
    So, in regards to your teeth, I do hope that you might still have at least some of them.
    If so, I wonder, Would the reason for retaining them be as much because you were wise enough to brush properly at a very early age?
    OR, Could it just be that your parents or some other care giver made you brush them?
    OR, perhaps someone even brushed them for you until you became responsible enough to do so for yourself, without being told to?

    If it is either of the latter case scenarios, it would seem that you may still to this day have Much that you did not earn for yourself. It would also blatantly spell out to anyone reading your posts, that you are comfortable enough taking credit for yourself, when it should be rightfully given to others.

    Thus, it only seems reasonable that I might be skeptical of your authoritative beliefs, and might find some, if not many, to be false, or delusional.

    I asked you a very simple question, that would have only taken perhaps a couple of clicks on your keypad to answer :What age were you able to obtain such a rigid idea of you having absolute independence?

    Could it be that perhaps it was because of your ego that you chose not to provide the answer? Was it because it would mean admitting there was actually a large time period in your life when you were lucky, or blessed enough to be spoon fed, and have your ass wiped for you?

    You may not see the value in such an exchange, but I did not ask you those questions in order for you to gain, as much as for my own benefit.

    As I have expressed before, I have little desire to converse with individuals who have put forth minimal effort into the soulful research required for them to form their shallow views. By asking such questions, I am using your answers as a gauge to try and determine the depths in which you have dove to.

    I wonder, Redneck, If there was no such thing as Christmas, Would you still believe in Santa?

    Despite what it may sound like, that question was not being asked with sarcasm. I hope that you might give it, and other questions some time for contemplation before you reply- if you decide to reply at all.

    My…my…. The directions I could travel with this one ….. temptation is SUCH a bitch

    Naw… me thinks I shall simply turn the other cheek…, harbor no ill will – and move on

    But first;

    You are correct – if there was no Christmas – I certainly would not believe in Santa – how could I duuhh…

    So don’t be dissin on Santa…

    Oh but then this does make me wonder….

    When the last time you gazed up into the sky and sang Happy Birthday – on Christmas - was

    My teenage kids – do it every year (well over a decade now) – and I be damn if I can figure out why….

    Could be because some dumbass illiterate inarticulate egotistical redneck taught them too – but I doubt it

    Please don’t fall off yer perch – may hurt when you land

  3. I'm not sure why I would or even should.
    If your referring to the birth of Jesus- that likely didn't happen on Dec 25th, or in December altogether.

    From my understanding, Christmas is a tradition (which I happen to really enjoy) that originated with non-Christians. When Christianity came along, people did not want to give up their traditions, but guilt lead them to insert the birth of Christ as the reason for celebration. Of course Santa, the Pagan God who brings gifts once a year, is still the shining star of the holiday.

    Of course I could have it all wrong too :)

    I, like many others, have allowed the jolly old fat ass to take center stage during the festive holidays. I'll be eatin his cookie's tonite ;)

    I was just wondering how high that perch has to be for a bad-ass such as yourself, who owes nothing to others, and needs nothing from No One.

    I'll be down here with the rest of the pathetics who actually rely on each other, and depend upon one another for not only our survival, but our fulfillment as well.

    Merry Christmas to you and your family, RN :)

    Fart sniffer asked so here it is:

    "I was born a poor black child.
    I remember the days...
    ...sitting on the porch with my family...
    ...singing and dancing..."

    Oops, sorry...wrong story.

    I grew up in a very strict home attending a southern Baptist church three times a week, essentially without exception. No doubt at least some of my beliefs are still affected by that.

    * The Holy Bible, I've certainly read most of it as you might well imagine from above. As something of a history buff it's my understanding parts of it have been intentionally left out by the various religious powers that be, over time. Other parts have no doubt been lost or forgotten and some parts have been misinterpreted. (The Red sea vs the Reed sea for example)

    * Science, despite what some of our resident anti religious zealots would like to believe I enjoy science. The Science Channel being one of my favorites.
    I don't care for "science" that has been politicized though. Scientist are fallible and more than a few have been caught simply trying to make a name for themselves. I have no problem with postulating a theory, so long as it's accepted and advertised as just that, an unproven theory. Modern science seems to want to threat unproven theories as fact until proven otherwise.
    Despite the fact their "facts" are constantly being revised. Example, in the last 10 years they've discovered much of what they thought they "knew" about comets turned out to be flat out dead ass wrong.

    *I had a now dead uncle who had a PhD in chemistry. A very smart guy but not the least bit religious. He made a statement decades ago I remember to this day. Paraphrasing: "anyone who thinks all this (the world) just happened by random chance is a fucking idiot".

    *"Near death" experiences. I've taken the time to watch quite a few interviews. I'm intrigued. And can't help but note the strong similarities from one to another.

    *Reality. I believe that it does not matter what I believe. Reality is what it is, refusing to accept it or being ignorant of it does not change reality. Only my perception of it.

    I have surmised that there is probably at least an even chance some sort of afterlife awaits us. Whether or not it's the classical heaven/hell of Christianity or merely some vague resemblance of that I cannot say and do not profess to know.

    No I am not saying that. I am saying all people need help from other people. No one person can live with no help from other people.

    Religious belief

    Asked to prove god exists – I can’t

    Asked to denounce god – I won’t

    Between these two reside my religious conviction

    =======================

    Dependency on others

    On a superficial level – yes I need others

    To supply the goods / services I consume
    To fund the accounts I extract money from

    On an internal level

    My wife leaves me – life goes on

    My kids disown me – life goes on

    I get sick enough – I’ll either cure myself or die

    Shtf – I will hunt / fish/ raise food / build shelter/ survive…. and if for whatever reason this is impossible – I will die

    No one can make me happy or satisfied – but me

    =================================

    Origin of my independence

    Grew up with 13 siblings, my first clue was when my mother said to me = “there is the stove, there are the pans – you want to eat – figure out how to cook”

    At 16 – ran away (a few thousand miles away), got a job and a place to live – they found me, hauled me back and made me finish HS

    At 18 – lived in my car for a bit – till I found a job and could afford a place to live

    Worked 1 full time.., and 1 to 2 part time jobs simultaneously to put myself through college

    At this point – I needed no one

    =============================================

    Time passed, lost a lot in my retirement account, learned to trade – which included reworking my internal bullshit (second low point)

    Say/ believe about me what you wish – none of it matters (up to and including what I believe)

    Yeah – I am a hard ass

    Btw; just polled my family – their response – when you’re focused – yes you are a hard ass

  9. I'm a little surprised that you're on the far right. You seem, well you seem moderate and level headed. IMO the election has showed me there is hope for our country.

    BA,

    Thank You for the compliment Sir (being level headed)

    Why can’t a person be conservative and level headed

    Or conversely...

    Liberal and level headed – both can and do exist

    Truth known – to accurately label me would require an averaging out of my stance – on every issue imaginable…

    Because I evaluate and decide my stance on each issue - discreetly

    =======================================

    Why I think the US is headed down the crapper…. and what I didn't/ don’t - like/ want - from the current administration (and thought the majority would have agreed)

    More taxes, more spending, more debt, more intrusion into my life, national health care, more circumventing the process (executive orders), illegal’s being made citizens, further market manipulation, further weakening the US as a world power, or the world’s leader, higher unemployment, higher inflation, more (or any) entitlements

    To name a very few – because quite frankly the list is longer than hell

    ================================

    I wasn't enthused with Romney – but at least there was a chance he would have reduced/ eliminated some of the above

    Also to be honest – I think many of Obama’s votes – were simply because he is black…, not competent

    Now.., before some idiot attempts to label me a racist.., personally I would loved if Condoleezza Rice had ran – I’d voted for her in a second – would also have voted for Colin Powell had he ran… BEFORE he endorsed Obama of course

    And I really liked Herman Cain – if he could have only kept his pecker in his pants

    And no, I didn't cotton to Bush Jr. all that much when he was in office either
    =================================

    No Sir... I don’t see the US better off because Obama was reelected – just getting worse quicker - from his incompetency

    However BA – present a reasonable and logical argument on why this election showed you there is hope – and maybe I’ll change my mind
