What are you going to do when they try to make the vaccine mandatory?

  2. It is my understanding that cabin pressure on jet airliners is maintained at the equivalent of 10,000 ft. Perhaps a reminder is in order for infected Covid deniers along the lines of “Can you think of any reason why anyone with a respiratory disease may not want to board a plane?

In the alternative, maybe airlines could reserve discounted flights solely for infected Covid deniers! A four hour flight should be sufficient to grade relative severity of the disease...

Federal agency says employers can require workers to get COVID-19 vaccine
    https://thehill.com/policy/healthca...s-can-require-workers-to-get-covid-19-vaccine

A key federal agency said this week that employers can legally require their workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine and prevent them from entering their workplaces if they refuse.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in guidance issued Wednesday said that requiring a test would not violate the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990. The law bars employers from requiring medical exams such as blood tests that seek information on an employee’s physical or mental condition, but the EEOC said a COVID-19 vaccine does not fall under that category.

“If a vaccine is administered to an employee by an employer for protection against contracting COVID-19, the employer is not seeking information about an individual’s impairments or current health status and, therefore, it is not a medical examination,” the commission said.

“There are many reasons that may explain why an employee has not been vaccinated, which may or may not be disability-related,” it added.

Public health experts have said they predict employers will play a key role in helping bring the nation to a critical degree of widespread immunity as vaccines become more widely available. Two vaccines, one from Pfizer and BioNTech and another from Moderna, have already been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is anticipated to greenlight the administration of the Moderna vaccine in the coming days.

Still, even with permission from the EEOC, employers must be cautious about any information that may be gleaned from prescreening questions, which the government said must be “job related and consistent with business necessity.”

A requirement for employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine could play an important role in combating what experts say is an alarmingly high rate of skepticism toward the shot.

A requirement for employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine could play an important role in combating what experts say is an alarmingly high rate of skepticism toward the shot.

While vaccines are considered one of the most crucial tools to finally reduce the spread of the disease, a Gallup survey last month found that just 58 percent of Americans said they would receive a vaccine.

To boost public confidence in a shot, Vice President Pence, second lady Karen Pence and Surgeon General Jerome Adams all received the Pfizer shot on live television this week, and President-elect Joe Biden will do the same next week.

While the vaccines provide a light at the end of the tunnel, the nation is still heading into what is anticipated to be the deadliest phase of the virus before they are widely available in the spring and summer. Public health experts have expected a spike in cases to emerge following Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the country has at times reported more than 3,000 deaths in a single day.

  4. So Covid may have a major mutation every, say six months, and vaccines now take a year to develop.

One of my roommates who had a solid case Covid six months ago appears to be febrile again as may be indicated by a thin sheen of sweat on his face, the glazed look to his eyes, and him seemly “Pinned” to the couch while watching TV, as if drained physically. Another roommate with recent close contact with him now has a dry cough. The roommate first mentioned works at Dallas-Forth Worth(DFW) International Airport. I wonder how many similar scenarios are playing throughout the US and most other parts of the world right now?

Are we living in a planet sized asylum?

I suppose one consolation is the interaction of man and nature will ultimately lead to an appropriate “Adjustment” and a new status quo eventually. Hopefully, others will play nice during this global crisis, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

The Flu mutates quickly. COVID mutates slowly -- as pointed out in previous articles. Any effective COVID vaccination is likely to still work on any COVID-19 mutation which occurs over the next decade.

You can catch COVID multiple times -- this has been well documented at this point. This makes the vaccine even more important since obviously their is no "natural herd immunity" except for a period of a few months for most people.

what percent of people have caught covid multiple times?
why are you such a fear monger?

    https://www.sandiegouniontribune.co...wice-dont-be-alarmed-san-diego-scientists-say

Data from San Diego County suggest that few residents have gotten COVID-19 twice so far, echoing findings from researchers across the globe.

The Union-Tribune asked the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency for the number of people who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus twice, with their second test at least three months after their first. That cutoff is based on a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that an infected person can shed virus for up to three months after they first show symptoms

“Fewer than 10” San Diegans met those criteria, according to communications officer Sarah Sweeney.

That’s a tiny fraction of the more than 70,000 people who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 in the region. And Sweeney cautions that the county isn’t certain these are genuine cases of reinfection and not tests picking up remnants of a person’s first infection.

There are now numerous fully medically documented cases world-wide of people catching COVID a second time. Anyone thinking that once they recover from catching COVID-19 that they are immune from catching it again is clueless. The concept of "natural herd immunity" is a farce.

Maybe would have been more appropriate for you and Trump to be focused on Covid not on the mythical "election fraud". Watch now as lawyers Sidney and possibly others get sued for their nonsense. Trump has basically been criminally negligent during this second wave but it appears most are just waiting to kick him out and let NY charge him for income tax evasion. Maybe he'll get away with it like Nixon.

Basically up here in Canada we've just considered the US to be a giant comical circus for 4 years led by a serial lying sociopath. So when we read about Covid deniers, the riots, the immoral police men, and all this election fraud nonsense it does not surprise us. You as a nation have lost your way.

What would you have Trump do?
You want to lockdown... that is for the Governors.
I would want to to seal the borders.. the democrats revolt and file law suits.

You want a vaccine? oh wait...

Had Trump been smart.. .he would have kept his daily press conferences on point.
Discuss stats. Where the spared is happening why... progress on the vaccine.
And he should have discussed it logically without hyperbole or conceit.

He would have been a true leader. but... he could not shut down the country. That is for the governors.
