What are the most important things for Technical Analysis?

  1. I was irritated at using the 100-day Slow Stochastic 3-day %D for a selling point, so I got something broader. This seems to be the best idea I had and ought to do fairly well in backtesting.

Initiate a trade using a Barchart Screener. Close a trade by unfavorable 50-day Slow Stochastic %K to 100-day Slow Stochastic %K. Qualifiers: It’s possible to make money on funds with unfavorable 50-day Slow Stochastic %K to 100-day Slow Stochastic %K, but avoid them in favor of getting a clean shot. Funds can get even-steven before the trade has to be terminated, but you’ll know when to terminate when you start losing money. Pick a fund from the Screener with some meat left on the bone, not almost played out.

  2. First, I put a 20-80 range for entering trades on the 50-day Slow Stochastic to keep some meat on the bone. You also want to make sure the 50-day has a decent lead over the 100-day to have meat on the bone.

Second, I kept buying Bollinger Band Buys and thought "Why don't I ever make some decent money?" I decided I should use Bollinger Band Hold on the Screener and go through the results and decide which ones will break out bullish.

  3. More details on using the No-brainer system: Buy only Bollinger Band Buys. Never buy leveraged funds. Short selling is a always a crap shoot unless there just aren't enough good funds to buy.

If this is a "tiny edge", what is then a real edge? I think most traders on ET even never can outperform the "tiny edge" of Peter Brandt. or in other words: This "tiny edge" story is pure nonsense.

What are the most important things for Technical Analysis?

To know how to use TA correctly. For many traders that seems to be a problem.

  5. I went to 9-day and 20-day RSI. Can be used on all markets, not just half of them, is more dependable.

Buy from the No-brainer Buy Screener. Close a trade by unfavorable 9-day RSI to 20-day RSI unless the Awesome Oscillator looks promising. Never buy leveraged funds and hopefully keep any realized and unrealized losses to less than two percent. Never sell short unless it is too hard to find enough good funds to buy.

  10. Buy funds from the No-brainer Buy Screener that have the 34-day Keltner Channel turning up in your favor and the Average Directional Modified Index +DI above the ADXMOD. Close a trade by the 50-day RSI being below 50% or the 7-day ADX saying to Sell. The 50-day RSI gives the general trend conditions and keeps you out of funds you shouldn’t be in, but it can keep you in a failing fund too long, so you live and die by the 7-day ADX. Reverse these rules for short selling.
