  1. They blocked an intersection which DeSantis specifically said is a felony and you are allowed to run them ever. Blocking an intersection is not peaceful.

  2. I said this elsewhere... it is a tale as old as time...

When a person escapes persecution and comes to freedom and gets a new life and becoems successful by some degree, they suddenly shit on everyone else who wants to do the same exact thing. Pick any group and you will see the same pattern.

    It makes no fucking sense.

  3. Well, of course, Joe will do this. That would be Joe 101 which is to figure out where you can send someone a check or have someone else send it and do that. No thinking required there.

Not sure it will be as helpful as he thinks. It may only aggravate some even more if they have no one to send them money so are stuck in a shit-hole unless their government improves conditions.

White House may ease ban on remittances as part of Cuba review -sources

WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's review of Trump-era Cuba policy could lead to big changes in the U.S. posture toward the communist government in Havana as U.S. officials take stock of large protests in that country.

The sources also said whether to ease a travel ban between the United States and Cuba is also under consideration, as well as whether to lift the designation of Cuba as a "state sponsor of terrorism," a label then-President Donald Trump gave to Cuba just days prior to leaving office in January.

Biden is also considering reviving the Cuban Family Reunification Parole Program, which had provided a legal way for Cuban families to be reunited in the United States, the sources said.

well, the dementia accusations aren't completely unwarranted....i kid, i kid

I think Joe's still too old school and traumatized by cold war fearmongering/propaganda. Probably didn't line up w/Obama on easing of sanctions, Iran, healthcare or prison reform. Doubt Joe's thrilled about legalizing weed tbh.

Well the media never seemed to care about COVID spreading during all the BLM protests...

Cuban protests risk exacerbating COVID-19 spike - PAHO
    https://www.reuters.com/world/ameri...-exacerbating-covid-19-spike-paho-2021-07-14/

Protests in Cuba will increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission because of an already high level of cases and the more contagious Delta variant, health officials said on Wednesday.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) urged Cubans and tourists visiting the Caribbean nation to avoid crowds, wear masks and frequently wash hands.

"The gathering of individuals for protests... increases the risk of transmission, in particular in cases such as Cuba where you have active transmission in many areas over the last week and 34,244 new cases reported," said Dr. Ciro Ugarte, PAHO's director of health emergencies. (Graphic on global cases)

He said in northern Matanzas province, the more contagious Delta variant had been identified and cases were rising exponentially. The area is also popular with tourists, he noted.

Since Sunday, thousands in the Communist-run country have protested against a deep economic crisis that has seen shortages of basic goods and power outages. They were also protesting against the government's handling of the coronavirus pandemic and curbs on civil liberties. read more

Cuba's government has said the demonstrations were orchestrated by the United States and blamed the decades-old U.S. trade embargo for shortages.

PAHO Director Carissa Etienne said COVID-19 cases in the Americas were down 20%, but infections were spiking in some parts of the United States, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cuba, the British Virgin Islands, Argentina and Colombia.

She said without access to vaccines, the virus would ravage Latin America "for years to come."

Only one in seven people in Latin America and the Caribbean have been fully protected against COVID, she noted, with Paraguay and Jamaica inoculating less than 3% of their populations so far, and Honduras and Guatemala yet to protect even 1%. (Graphic on global vaccinations)

Ugarte said Cuba had given more than 3 million people at least one dose of its home-grown vaccines, or 27% of the population. He said PAHO understood the vaccine's efficacy in trials stood at between 91% and 92% but that final data on its effectiveness among the population would be key.

Extreme liberal Democrats do love their communist buddies. When a huge number of Democrats elected into office are full out Socialists and Communists including, our ET trolls, there is no surprise to their silence. They support their communist buddies that is why. Barack Obama during his time, bent over backwards to please Raul Castro. Raul Castro embarassed Barack Obama then, having a low level communist official meet him at the airport when Air Force One arrived.

AOC, Omar silent after Black Lives Matter voices support for Cuban regime
Black Lives Matter sparked backlash after posting statement praising Cuba's communist regime
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/aoc-omar-black-lives-matter-cuba

Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Cori Bush of Missouri have yet to weigh in on Black Lives Matter declaring its support for Cuba's communist regime, even though the congresswomen have been vocal BLM supporters in the past.

Black Lives Matter sparked a backlash late Wednesday after posting a statement that blasted the U.S. embargo and praised Cuba's government.

"The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination," the statement said. "United States leaders have tried to crush this Revolution for decades."

The statement also credited Cuba's government for "protecting Black revolutionaries like Assata Shakur," a convicted cop-killer who fled to Cuba after escaping from prison in 1979. BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors has repeatedly praised Shakur in the past.

Ocasio-Cortez and Omar are vocal supporters of BLM, while Bush was a BLM activist before joining Congress.
