Well lets wait and see how the small stages go before getting too carried away, likely go fine, don't get me wrong, but 34 years in programming, I guess I don't trust programmers And yes the world is totally nuts, ran by the media who write scare stories to sell news to the stupid masses and control / distract them from real issues, we've come to accept car accidents bla bla bla, but anything new is something that'll get clicks on there web page and maybe clicks on adverts. It all comes down to advert revenue, Google likely want to role out auto cars so they can make you watch adverts while you drive, people spend far to many hours driving every day, where there not clicking on adverts LOL
Or executives. Again, they are only safe if the executives at those companies don't know you have been trash talking them, you are not competing with them, you are in the same political party, and part your hair the same way...
Weak AI can be useful, but also dangerous when misapplied or overly trusted: https://tech.slashdot.org/story/17/04/15/0132203/tiny-changes-can-cause-an-ai-to-fail Strong AI can hopefully replace all of humanity, but need much more research first. This is OK since science dictates we don't have souls or any intrinsic value.
True true obviously, got to hope the human species is working towards something off planet and great to make our existance worthy, 100,000 years time. And thats actual AI not pretend AI which cant really think then gets all confused.
Which AI gets "totally confused"? You know, it's. Ok to be conservative and critical. It's not OK, however, to display a total lack of knowledge and to make up stories. Fact remains AI and self driven cars already now are responsible for only a tiny tiny fraction off accidents in total. I think someone else is totally confused here.
Really intelligent? It depends how you define intelligence. Can it compose music even a professional musician cannot distinguish from human created music? YES. Can it operate cars more safely than most humans? Absolutely. Can it perform legal research in split seconds that would would take highly paid lawyers and assistants hours if not days? YES. Can it diagnose diseases more reliably than most doctors? ABSOLUTELY YES. Today's AI is capable of certain levels of creativity and even of complex thought processes but it can certainly not match or exceed the thought processes and creativity of the most accomplished people on earth. But it still beats 90% of humans.
