interesting thread - i would think the answer would depend greatly upon ones defition of scalping ... namely how large a slice you prefer to target ech15 - with the size trades you suggest ... given the dollar amount of the shares you mentioned ... with these volume ranges ... how many pennies do you target per trade? Curious why you would want nyse. Do you feel you can read the specialists better than trading Nasdaq?
Of course reading the specialist is much easier. He is one guy who has certain tendencies and over time you can learn to take advantage of those tendencies. Naz stocks have many markets makers which make it much harder to get a good read on. Just my opinion.
yes i made a typo, thanks for correcting it. I find reading the nyse specialist to be better for scalping, you can get to know the personality of the stock so to speak. I would want to get into larger positions with genentech, but my risk tolerance level is not there yet. Does anyone here like to trade the homebuilding stocks?
