What are some basic strategies ?

I do something along those lines as well. I am curious as to what you might consider a quick recovery?

 

Quick recovery would be within 5 trading days as a rule of thumb.
You'll get the first drop, maybe the following day will be another emotional drop (emotional drops being employer slaves coming home from work and seeing their Co. has 'inexplicitly' dropped).
A quick recovery is traders & investors who knowing their stuff, know this pullback will be fleeting and are taking advantage of the quick drop to then snap up a bargain.
