For the math challenged a country of less then 40 million people that still produces 41% of the best male hockey players in world and wins the majority of world championships is pretty dominant. And every Winter Olympics we get as many total medals as the US a country drawing from a population 9 times as large. Some of the slack can be attributed to our rapid rise to a respectable soccer nation, as we diversify through immigration. We embrace such trends unlike the Trump cult.

And for the idiot who thinks this is all Canada does, well, we generate a ton of smart savvy young people that are heavily recruited by top global firms. Canadians are literally everywhere and dare I say more respected and trusted then young Americans in many cases. Our top export is incredible educated people with balanced social skills. The US unfortunately is struggling these days with acrimony and too much denial of science and education. This opened up huge opportunities for talented Canadians ( and numerous other nations ) to fill. At home, we remain industry leaders in some niche industries like energy, mining, banking but for sure we should do better to retain all the young talent we produce in many arenas.

  2. I look at continents and then see what those that live there ever invented or developed. I then look and see how stable the governments are.
I then see how civilized or uncivilized the people of that continent are.
