Hey dumbshit .. a lipoma is of unknown origin as stated:

The cause of lipomas is not completely understood, but the tendency to develop them is inherited. A minor injury may trigger the growth.

It has nothing to do with lifestyle. I've run 50,000 miles in the last 38 years. I'm guessing you're one of the 2/3 in this country who is an overweight or obese slob. My diet is one reason why I'm so healthy idiot.

  4. as a matter of fact, what is it in the state exchanges? 400% or less over poverty you qualify for Medicaid. How is that bad? Isn't that what we want is to make sure the poor can get healthcare without showing up in ER and sticking the hospital and in turn all of us whether we are insured or naked with the bill? (that would actually be better because it eliminates one level of bureaucracy), although as piezoe points out, that is the most expensive health care, so we are kind of chasing our tails.

Other than politics, I can see why red states didn't go with a state exchange. After all, after a coupe of years of free hand outs from the federal government, where is the money going to come from?

It will be interesting to see what happens with Kentucky and Washington State.

So correct me where I am wrong, if it all goes well, we end up with a single payer system for anyone at 400% or less over poverty, presumably paid for in one way or the other by those over 400%.

Socialism at it's finest. Means tested benefits for the poor, and leave those of us that are not poor alone. (except of course on April 15 when we have to pay for it all.)

well piezoe and Tsing and JamesL, what do you think?

otherwise I already know Obama is stupid (or diabolically intelligent) so no need to continue your shallow childish posts. I don't put people on ignore, because I enjoy opposing view points, but if a constant barrage of propaganda spewing forth the party line is what I needed I could just turn on tv. So, I would consider it a patriotic honor if you would please, just put me on "ignore."

  7. Pretty good summary of the problem. I too would prefer more actual analysis rather than talking points or invective.

We have at least three conflicting issues on health care. One, we don't want to deny people necessary care on financial grounds but neither do we want to encourage free riders. Two, we have to recognize that cross subsidies are inefficient and subject to rampant abuse. Three, we have to be aware that government subsidies tend to drive up prices, eg education, food, housing, etc.

  8. I hear ya, it's a mess isn't it? If you don't mind, could I add you to the list of people who are interested in discussing rather than making fun of things they don't understand?

One question: In healthcare if you set up a public system like other western countries do then force the private companies to compete against the low cost public system - does this generally raise or lower healthcare prices across the country?

  10. Like the man said, (I paraphrase) "When I get done with it, you won't even be able to slide a Zig Zag between the Government and the Corporation."
