Yeah but I voted that government in myself. I didn't vote for the Chinese government that's the diff. And I will be subject to its whims if my country does business with China and be forced to use the digital yuan crap.
I know. I will not vote for that politician next time. And you also just proved my point regarding why the digital yuan's potential impact is so concerning.
Lol your Chinese phobia is over the top. Only you can take any subject and take it to a China thread.
same as your hatred towards the West manifested in your biased views of everything in the West. I was really expressing my concern about the digital currency here. I am not a fan of the digital currency itself and I have written a lot of posts pointing out the danger of implementing digital currency regardless of the country. But with a country with a dictatorial regime, adopting digital currency is even more dangerous for anybody who has to be part of that currency system yes. And China is not even the most dictatorial regime in the world; there are regimes that are far worse and I cannot imagine if they all adopt digital currencies how much worse it could be for its people but then again if you can make people disappear at a snap of a finger, how much worse would it be to make some money disappear. LOL
I know the above post was not addressed to me. But, I would like to mention that digital currencies are the way forward. For example, in India we have a problem. Terrorists are smuggling into our country from across the Pakistan border fake Indian currency, and, drugs to fund their terror activities. To stop this, India had withdrawn high value currency notes. But, soon the next high value notes would be targeted. So eventually moving to coins would remain. Coins are generally costlier than the currency they represent. Terrorists cannot duplicate them, but this guy was a petrol pump attendant who started his first business finding value in such coins and later founded other businesses. His family became Asia's richest and that is a story for another time. Check the link below. https://www.saralstudy.com/blog/dhirubhai-ambani-the-rags-to-riches-story/ So neither coins nor paper can solve the problems for Central banks, and eventually all of them will move towards digital currency. This is inevitable. India already started its digital rupee.
If somebody wants to fake something, they will fake it regardless of whether it's physical or digital. And in fact, depending on how the digital currency is designed, it might even be easier to fake digital currencies. Eventually people will find a way. That I find is not an adequate excuse to implement digital currency and as a matter of fact it's really not fair to sacrifice the freedom and safety/security and well-being of the law-abiding majority to supposedly curtail the criminal minority.
