Hello Belize, yes, all todays gains where in the account you wired too. oh wait, I guess the wire missed the deadline.... Sorry Nod, looks like you just missed the cutoff on that one. Thanks a bunch for your well wishes. Very cool of you to take the time from your vacation to say so. Funny, I don't actually remember swearing that much on that trade?? Not saying I didn't do it just saying I don't recall. Hurry up and get back so you can get the chat room back in order. getting unruly without you !! Respectfully, Bob
hey Jack, Thanks for saying so. I want to wish you the best with your trades that you have on. With the feds puttting on their dog and pony show tomorrow that they call stress test results you should be in pretty good shape at least until the results are fully out. Its not like the feds are going to come out and paint a picture that is not totally rainbows and flowers on it. This should be very good for you. After all the hoopla and song and dance is over it might be a buy the rumor and sell the fact but I am sure you have done the math and know what your doing. Best to you Robert
I carried a few shares of SMTC overnight and I exited way before I wanted to. I was getting so many other trading signals that I covered more to clear that trade off than for the risk that the trade would go against me. It was a very busy opening and I was glad that my computers didnât have any issues. SMTC + 31 PRU really rocketed up and I did well as a result of following the trading plan. the rest of the day was pretty much over before my lunch time with the exception of UNH which just kept slowly going higher for hour after hour. It went from total crazy to sitting here watching youtube and flossing my teeth. Leaving early to go take my truck in to see what its going to cost to get it fixed and see what kind of loaner I can get out of them. WLT + 571 UNH + 875 TDC + 2125 PSSI + 1008 PRU + 1342 PCZ + 667 MGA + 1163 CI + 596 + 8381 Day ~ 51 K Shares
Bob,what kind of option trade you do,I only sell naked puts.sometimes I do bull or bear credit spread. respecfully---jack
Good day but gains smaller due to trading smaller size. I continued to mostly trade smaller and move slowly into trades and that is proving to be lowering my risk profile. Left early today to go watch a play that my first grader was in and was well worth it Glad the market allowed me to leave and not have a trade that required my attention. I did cut one trade short by about six cents but I consider that a zero cost to be able to leave early. Flat going into the weekend other than fully hedged swing trades. I am very pleased to see my account moving back in the direction of upwards. The possibility of ending the month in the green is starting to come into focus even if its still a ways off. TMK + 363 PCR + 1169 FITB + 130 (poorly traded and not proud of. should have made 3x the gains. At least when I made the tweet I was dead on ) COF + 1856 BG + 164 ARD + 101 (nailed this one at the HOD but my offer was not fully lifted) + 3785 Day - 27606 Week ~ 42 K shares
RW, You have an absolutely obscene winning percentage - it looks to be upwards of 90% - just about the highest I've seen posted here on ET. I just didn't think that was even possible. I assume you would attribute that primarily to money management - any tips there? How long is your typical holding period?
Mike, I hate to see you spin your wheels over this, so I am going to reveal the secret: Mr. W has no strategy, no money management, no tips that can help any of us; he uses a lucky coin.
I can totally confirm this. I have watched, studied, and felt many of RW's trades. And when I am sure I am on his thought process, he always refers to the coin. The coin is his edge. If you sojourn, you can have the edge too.............don't doubt the monks............../lol.
Jack, Like you I will sell naked puts. If I like a stock for a long I will normally sell puts if the IV is at least neutral or better. I will also write naked calls on stocks that I want to short for swing trades. I consider writing naked options a much lower risk then taking an outright position and if done correctly to be more profitable in the long run. Best of trading to you Bob
Hello Mike, Thanks for the kind words. My biggest tip is to know that our biggest edge is the ability to NOT be in a trade. Unlike the big money hedge funds and mutual funds that must be invested and when they move in and out of a stock they make big waves we don't have to do anything. We can wait it out until we have the perfect setups that allow for high winning percentages. Almost every loss that I have taken this year is from going off the trading plan and trying to be overly aggressive. Sticking to my plan keeps me out of trouble and after last weekend thats more of my focus. I suggest you read the top 10 trading book list that I made and you will get the most bang for your reading time buck. Your right about money management. There are many ways to manage captial and risk but a focus on them is always an element to successful trading. Respectfully, RW
