You were very laudable today. If I can only be so cool and calm when things go wrong for me in the future.

I respected you before, I respect you more now......................

  3. He has a steel resolve. He takes the heat like a champ. It's almost as if he embraces it. I respect him a lot.

I follow you over at the other place but I wanted to, at the very least, give you some heed over here at ET!

  4. Hello Jegnyr,

    Wow, thank you very much.

It was a very strange day yesterday indeed. First the car crash that put me late into the office and then seeing what I feared would be the case all weekend.

I spent a lot of time and did a lot of work over the weekend which was not easy with two sons that wanted dad to play outside but I knew I needed to address that trade and why my signal put me in it at the price it did.

I think I am in better shape now and I am going to really strive to end this month positive.

Thanks and best of trading to you

    Bob

  5. Hello Jack,

Thanks for saying so. Monday was actually not that bad. It was knowing all weekend that Monday could be so ugly that was tough.

I traded better today and need to keep improving.

Best to you and thanks again

  6. Hello Bigpipn,

    cool handle

Thanks for posting your kind words.

I am not sure that I embrace an open loss but I will say its normally part of the plan.

Thanks again and best of trading to you

  7. Came into the office today ready to be on my A game.

The overall market was uncommitted from what I could see. I also found in pre market trading BBG which had gapped up. unlike some of the gap ups that I have tried and failed with in the past this one had my new setup. Went up even after the gap far enought to trigger another short signal where I added to the short. I stayed very small in shares in light of yesterday. On a normal day I might have made twice the gain but still is very good.

    BBG + 2297

I also received some short signals today and after looking at the entries I can see that the ‘tune up’ I gave my setups have started to pay off. My entries where at better pricing. I did miss at least one trade today from the new settings but I feel that was offset by the better entries and lower risk.

I did have a bad trade today. I could have been a good trade but my mistakes cost me. I started out scalping SFD with the thought I was safe from much upside. It shot up from there and went on a tear but before it did so I was already pretty short. Then to make matters worse when I did get a full short signal I went at it too much size too quickly. Had I traded it better I could have added to my days gains but instead this trade took away from it. Very frustrating to take such a great day and chop it in half. My losses are from covering most of it during the final minutes of trading. I didn’t want a repeat of ANR. Unlike ANR I am not uncomfortable holding this overnight as I expect a pullback early in the trading tomorrow. I did come in today to be on my A game and until the afternoon came I was. I would give myself an overall of a C today.

  8. I carried over some SFD from yesterday.

That turned into a nice refund of some of the hit I took.

    SFD + 426

Much of the rest of the day was pretty slow until around noon time when I received some signals. Then almost at once my radar screen lit up giving me several trades at one time. I ended up in several trades at once. I was pretty pleased that I stuck to the trading plan and as a result both PFG and PRU where winners when they could have otherwise turned into losers.

Rockin' it Bob! You're trading that $$ I wired you yesterday, right? :D :D

Jack, I want to set the record straight. Mr. W and I once held decent sized overnight short positions that gapped $4 against us next morning and the word "sh*t" was exchanged between us several times. The word sh*t, though not the epitome of "keeping cool" works quite well, saving unnecessary wear and tear on keyboard and monitors.
