Weinstein Trading and Fading

  1. Good day. closed out the day, week, and month on a good note. During times like this its almost hard to believe I make money having this much fun.

Very enjoyable to go into a three day weekend flat and on the right side of the PnL ledger.

Had a couple of carry overs from yesterday.

MBI was shorted via writing ITM calls. MBI found some weakness during the open and I bought the options back. + 892

PCL is the other one carried over. I did trade it some yesterday for a small profit but felt I could do better holding overnight. I covered the short during the open and did well. + 868

Scalped again during most of the day.

UB for small one, two, and three cent scalps during the first half of the day. + 82

PETM for a few hours today. Great back and forth action allowed for a good return. + 1067

yesterday going over 300K shares for the month allowed me to actually make trades and get money back even after commissions. Bummer I have to start back at zero again Tuesday but at least the commissions are still starting out very cheap.

My average cost is about 10 cents per hundred shares for the first 300K shares. Still a very good price even when comparing prop rates (for my monthly volume)

I hope everyone has a good weekend and looking forward to spending some time with my family and to backtesting and chart reading to improve my signals

    + 2911 for the day
    + 11168 for the week
    + 13067 for the month

  3. Well at this time it is not ten as I am using one of the pair 17" HP monitors (see far right) for a linux project I just started.

on the bottom left is a 24 inch soyo I am trying out and the rest are 22s.

The 24s really do add a lot of real estate.

two in the middle left are the trading monitors. I can have up to six DOMs at one time without problems. They along with the far left smaller monitor(running blocks software, ET char, and bloom TV) is powered by a dual 3.2 xeon Dell workstatation with 4 gig of ram

the six charting monitors are running Tradestation charting and TS radar powered off a dual 3.6 xeon 4 gig HP workstation with three dual head Nvidia cards.

The third mouse in the picture is for the linux server I am working on and not used for trading.

Shades are closed and the lights are off during normal trading. (Kinda reminds me of being in the control of a sub)

Picture on bottom right was made by my 4 yr old so that I "wouldn't miss him while at work"

I had the table that I work from custom made and imported by Sams Club for $49 (along with a wood shelving board from Menards to give me piece of mind with the monitor stands)

  4. Last night(Sunday night my time) I traded the HSI for a couple of small trades while testing a new entry system partly based on Fib replacements.

I made about 1000 HKDs or about 125 USDs.

  5. Day started out in a frustrating way. Tradestation gave me problems and I made it to my office at the last possible minute.

The radar screen lit up with some trades though.

Also blocks lit up with a trade as well. So far I have to say that I like blocks more and more. It may be very tough to find a better stock screener that is better for the money. As low cost as it is it might make sense even as a back up.

scalped a lot of shares and a higher than normal amount of stocks.

    CVG + 429
    PHM + 210
    S:6b+

  6. Just finished trading the Hong Kong HSI.

I trade the HSI on a take it or leave it basis. I had about 1000 HKD gain on sunday night but didn't trade it on Monday as I did not see any good setups.

Tonight I have 880 HKDs in gains which is about $112

Not a lot of money but paid for the Mexican restaurant that my family ate at tonight and left a little bit extra to work with for tomorrow.
