Weinstein Trading and Fading

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Robert Weinstein, May 5, 2008.

  1. Hello 11,

Thanks for saying so. Thanks also for reading my journal.

Even after a day like today I feel like it's all good. I know I will have it back in a few days and so no worries. Jan was a better month for me than any month last year and this month is on track to maybe give Jan a run for its money (it was for sure before today)

Thanks again and feel free to stop in the chat sometime

    Respectfully,

    Robert

Mr. Weinstein, I'm very disappointed in you, shorting that nice organic produce after all the time I spent getting you to eat your salads! :p

On a serious note, good to see you rockin' it; this is but a pit stop in your awesome run.

I'm sorry I haven't visited chat lately, but I've become a whirling dervish CL trader with about 20 trades a day now and the chat window covers a chunk of my charts

  3. NoDoji,

If I said it once I said it a thousand times.,,,,,,

You need at least six monitors to be profitable....

Thanks, I can't say I am happy with how it worked out but even with today I will take this year so far over last by a long shot.

Get that extra monitor (laptops can be had for under $400) and come on in. I saved you a barstool and the beer is cold

Wish I had heard you a few years ago ... I added a few laptops to my four-monitor setup several months back and my profitability has been better than ever. Who knew ... :)

  5. My main article on JDSU is the most view article yet that I wrote for seeking alpha. So that is a good way to start the week.

Not much for trades today. I was busy with JDSU for much of the morning. I was planning on selling some calls but I became busy with other trades and almost trades that I was not able to give it the time needed to put on the trade.
CCJ gave me a Laurel signal and I had a William with FNSR. I closed out some but still am short SCI. I received a Laurel overbought signal with IPGP and I am still short.
    CCJ + 321
    FNSR + 219
    JDSU + 1287
    SCI – 78
    +1750

  6. Hi JScott,

Yup, sometimes just the simplest little changes makes all the difference.

    LOL

    Thanks

Hi Bob, I remember you had a bull spread in AAPL a while back and was curious if that turned out profitable with AAPL now trading at new highs, but close to expiration.

I've been testing calendar spreads for a while in my Etrade demo account, as an IRA investment strategy. Not a bad strategy so far.

  8. Meeting THE Market Timer, Mr. Tom DeMark
Posted on February 23, 2011 by Robert Weinstein

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Tom DeMark today.

Those that spend any amount of time in my chat room know I talk about him almost daily. I believe he is the greatest known market timer living and perhaps of all time. Listening to him for the one hour he presented made the trip to NYC well worth the time and expense. What a super nice person he is as well. I will be following up with several articles about my trip.

  9. Nope, if i remember correctly it was a call spread. premium decay combined with lack of trading outside regular hours killed the trade. I think a bull put spread would have worked though but still not very well. An outright trade would have worked perfect for what I wanted to do but that is based on the one sample size.
