Weinstein Trading and Fading

  1. Robert,

Are you going to quit trading for good? or just stop trading for a while?

of course, it depends on "figure that out." What exactly do you mean by "that"?

I am 99.9% going to quit trading. Losing money is not fun at all. Every day a negative number shows up, trading stops being fun.

  2. BP. why did you short oil with no stops with real money with no stops and no prior success shorting oil with no stops? Are you trading or gambling?

  3. Slow and ugly

Traded CECO a couple of times Once at the open and one near overbought by less than 10 cents. both discretionary + 18

    LVS was discretionary + 7

XNPT, down about 66% for the day and appeared to put in a floor. discretionary trade. + 83

I turned off one of my scanners so that I could do some homework that I am behind with. It helped somewhat as I did do some homework but not much.

    + 109

  4. Hi BP,

I have no intention of quiting for good. I have slowed way down and I just made an appointment to be away from the office on Monday that could have been during non trading hours. I may or may not trade tomorrow. Unless something really stands out I will just call it an early weekend and get some very needed homework done.

    Thanks

    Bob

  5. Just a quick follow up. I did not blow my account up. I just will not continue to trade unless I believe I have a postive edge and can execute it correctly. Currently I have a very large edge but executing it that much worse to the point of not being net positive for way to long.

I am currently what they mean by the best system in the world is not as important as being able to execute properly. Very had thing to come to grips with and perhaps doing so will get me to the pont of making the changes needed. At that point when I do turn the leaf (which I believe I can do) I think its going to be really great again because my signals are fantastic and I have no complaints there.

    Best

    Robert

  6. Actually do quite the opposite as suggested by the last poster ThepropTrader in the situation you are in Robert (no offence Theproptrader)

often you will find in the choas of doubt in execution a new order can appear when there was none. However Most people do take it off in order to seperate from it (trading) as we can get too fused with it for a number of reasons , safety being the primary reason (then Theproptraders advice can be highly regarded)....if you cant experience the chaos of the situation you are in when you consciously notice the distance between your signal and the final execution then by all means seperate from it by force Robert.

Distance also has a benefit but not as transformative as the first option mentioned in this post. ie "seeing' the chaos. Most people cant and wont go there as its too threatening

Your the man and I enjoy your journey

    All the Best

so you're not a super-man.. really that's no big deal.
( i never like super-man anyway .. what's up with the s hardo and wearing the underwear outside and flying around with that red-towel etc! :) talking about cartoon movies, i only like 'finding nemo' and i love 'kung fu pandan'

sorry to hear about your down-hill a/c but don't worry i started out as a penniless apprentice and if i can made it so can you!

take heart! the year of the tiger is here.. be prepare for the majestic golden tiger roarrrrrrrs!

meanwhile .. the weekend is here.. go watch the 'kung fu panda' with your boys and your wife ... i am sure you and your family will really enjoy the story ... the 'pandan' is sooooo cute and adorable! the story is kinda like my story when i first started as an apprentice lol :D

  9. Wow. Some of this advice is outragous. Yeah, Bob, go watch a cartoon movie and then come back and jump in front of a another freight train for another 12k loss. *sigh*
If you want to trade counter trend, fine, but wait for the signal that the trend "may" be over. Selling a stock that is rocketing straight up is lunacy and I'm not afraid to say it.
