Does anyone have any long term experience with swing trading the e-minis? It seems that a simple strategy would be to enter a trade at the beginning of the week in the direction of a given range breakout, while having a favorable risk:reward ratio. Give the trade enough room to breathe (i.e. stop loss > 50% daily ATR). Does this seem like a viable strategy? I've manually backtested it for about six months, with favorable results overall. A r:r ratio of 1:2 allows a 33% win rate to break even. Does anyone know of a good backtesting software for such a weekly swing trading strategy, although past performance is no guarantee of future outcome? Simply because it may have worked consistently over the last 5 years does not mean it will work over the next 5 five years. However, that's the case with any form of pattern recognition analysis. Any thoughts... Walt
