SPEAKING OF SMH, cramer did a whole segment on it yesterday 9/14/10 and of course was extremely bullish saying "I see a group thats done going down, I think its going just power right through that and the group is no longer in bearish mode its in bullish mode".

What else is new, cramer hyping up the good old semis, do you honestly think he would talk down the biggest sector in technology, hell no he wouldn't thats why he is hyping the sector saying its time to buy now.

Here is the whole segment which I did watch twice just to get a good laugh, hope everyone hear gets a good laugh as well.

  2. Since the semis are lagging, which segment of the QQQQ is pulling them (Qs) higher?

  3. out of the biggest weighted in qqqq: aapl, qcom, orcl are doing great.

i checked and SMH and QQQQ don't actually overlap much especially given the weighting of various components.

54% SMH is in 3 stocks

  4. Thanks shortie. Could I ask which are the three SMH stocks?

  6. Financialtraders blog issued an alert yesterday about the potential dump. I recall that he made some great market timing calls before. My suggestion for the blog to have previous calls mapped on QQQQ chart so that readers could have a good picture of the historical performance.

***Disclaimer: this is not my blog

"The stock market models of this blog have been in a bullish leg recently, and today they issued a warning for a potential retreat. They suggest to us to take profits on any longs we may have. They estimate the retreat for the NDX (Nasdaq-100) to be currently around 3% to 5%. If the retreat takes place this does not mean that the current bull leg would continue. The situation would be re-assessed after the retreat if the retreat materializes before any further up move. We asked the models what the current upside would be if it were to continue higher without a retreat, and as of close of Wednesday they estimated the upside to be around 3% if the marker were to continue. The market issued the warning however. The analysis was made for the Nasdaq-100 index. A related ETF is the QQQQ. The above numbers translate to around $45 on the low side, and 49.25 on the upside for the QQQQs. The QQQQ closed at the 47.90 area."
