unfortunately that's how the world works. The powerless are punished for the actions of few powerful. Ask all those Ukrainians who have fled their homes. Or ask all those Afghan women whose lives are ruined by a few men with AK-47s.
After all, they "voted" for him. But seriously, the people of Russia have to step up. It is easy to blame a few people for all bad things, but what did 4 million Germans were doing around Moscow? Freedom is not free.
Although its true that they pay more taxes, their huge incomes comes as a result of huge populations that all consume things. Even if you're poor, you still have a cell phone, so the CEO of Verizon gets a nice pay package. You probably shop at Walmart, so upper management is rewarded nicely, and not to mention all the shareholders. I think you can see where I'm going with this. The smartest CEO in the world couldn't make the profits for the company if it were not for billions of lemmings underneath them who were all consumers. Imagine a high rise building. Some CEO wants to live in the 50th floor penthouse that will cost him 20 million. But of course to get up so high and make the building cost effective to build, you need all those lower units. Sure, all the people lower down have somewhere to live, but the CEO gets to live on top for a fraction of what it would cost if he wanted a 50 floor view but had to pay everything to build the building that high just for himself.
Next thing on the list.. Germany will block your crypt-accounts if your school-children refuse to believe (or even doubt) THEIR version of history they try to teach them. No critical thinking allowed.
Notice I spelled out PROPORTIONATE. The reason they cut it off using income is because you absolutely do not want to see how little the _wealthy_ pay. Being RICH does NOT imply being wealthy. That's why they do it with "income". Income is so irrelevant to the wealthy.
