Neocons want to use the military to bomb other countries into submission to conform to their will. Many of us aren't happy with that.

Is this recent approach some sort of neo-econ? Are we now going to use economic and tax policy to bash other countries into conforming to what we believe to be best practices? Do we have more right to strongarm other countries economically than we do militarily?

If other countries wish to strangle their own consumers, that's their business. Not ours. I say we stick to our own knitting.

As I heard an economist say---if another country has a cure for cancer and we have a cure for heart disease, and the other country won't buy our cure for heart disease, do we say 'we'll fix their wagon. We won't buy their cure for cancer. That'll show em'.

We buy their stuff because it makes our life better. It's none of our business if they want to screw over their own population.

Guess Canada's only choice for not going broke is still shipping most of the oil to the U.S.
