Because they're: (1) Young and didn't earn their money themselves, or (2) Leftist plants and phony as a $3 bill... maybe just Odumbo's new campaign strategy..??
Notice that only chicken shirt dude wrote that he actually did something (like give some money away). All the rest are still waiting for someone else to act while they wave their "TAX ME" signs. Seems to me it's a way for a lot of people to stand around and feel like they are part of a group without actually having to do any of the heavy lifting to really make a difference.
The wealthy are getting taxed. Just read the article: "In terms of averages, the current tax system already satisfies the Buffett Rule. Americans on average pay 16% of their total income in federal income and payroll taxes, while millionaires pay an average of 20.1%, according to the Tax Policy Center." http://money.cnn.com/2011/09/20/news/economy/buffett_rule_milllonaires/index.htm?iid=EL
According to 2009 Social Security Admn stats, $250K income is in the top 0.5%. Net compensation interval Number Percent of total Average amount 250,000.00 â 299,999.99......... 368,345... 99.45006.... 272,309.01 http://thevileplutocrat.com/bile/ar...s-for-2009-do-you-think-you-are-in-the-top-1/
It does seem kind of sad how this protest is turning from being for any kind social reform to really just an attack on the rich with the parade to various homes of the rich. How is it that the government can lie and start a war that costs billions of dollars and thousands of lives and these people arent talking about that or the billions added to bailout packages so various politicians would vote in favor if it that is an incredible waste. Instead the tax code will become even more complex and a loophole put in so it doesnt bring in any money and the same rich that can dodge it before will dodge any new tax but the govt will spend even more
Social Security only takes into account W-2 income (wages), while both census and IRS data show up much higher. E.g. look here: http://www.irs.gov/taxstats/indtaxstats/article/0,,id=96981,00.html
The question no one answers is: What is a fair share? The top 1% earn 20% of all annual income. What percent of taxes should they pay? 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%....
Why do these people feel more money to the Government is the best way to help the 99%. Some one should ask them about private charities that are much more efficient. Here is a website with stories from the 53% who pay taxes. The lefties copied it. http://the53.tumblr.com/
no kidding, Karl Marx was one of the most influential economists of all time. Yet, if you read Das Kapital, there is all kinds of things about how to split wealth up after it has been created but there is very little about how to create wealth in the first place. Just goes to show you, republicans tend to be more creative than democrats.
i think the OWS crowd wouldn't have a problem if justice was properly served. if a rich person became rich illegally and was caned in the ass in public like in singapore and sent to jail we wouldn't have these problems.
