  1. I would say large language models are search engines 2.0.
A search engine is only as useful as what you want to search for.

I think it is like how you can make the argument no good movies are being made anymore even just a few days after you binge watch 5 seasons of some amazing TV show. That pretty much extends to most walks of life compared to the past.

There is also a huge problem that we don't remember what reading something like this would have been like on a 15 inch CRT monitor that weighed like 40lbs.

Cars though is very easy to see the progress. Here is 2005 Lincoln Town Car. This was a $80k sticker price luxury car in 2023 money and basically a piece of shit by today's standards.

Could humanity simply not exist in 20 years? I think in 1949, people also couldn't imagine that within 20 years, humans would fly into space and land on the moon

  3. It's true that advancements can bring unexpected changes, so it's hard to predict what the future holds.

the downside is a lot harder to realize than the upside. That’s the beauty of human existence.

And in 1949, unlike landing on the moon with a then-nonexistent rocket, they actually HAD a flying car. But land on the moon they did, against all odds. But 70+ years later we STILL don't have a practical flying fucking car.

    It's maddening.

I can't even imagine what the future holds for my children. Even now, there are wars that could escalate into global conflicts, and everything could end in a nuclear showdown. Those who survive might end up in a situation reminiscent of the game Fallout )

The world is so inverted right now i am losing my mind.

like, how can any of this be real? It feels like a bad dream(nightmare).

    Just... Everything.

A senile sitting president, an assasination attempt on a running candidate, ponzi schemes are catching the attention of the world (crypto), fraudsters and criminals are running free and influencing the world (example; Andrew Tate), criminal organizations are manipulating the people and crypto markets (Bitfinex, Tether,...). Beyond incompetent politicians are in control (Trudeau, Johnson, Biden, Leben, Scholz,...) and are driving us towards ruin.

People who are in charge right now are literally retarded and this extends beyond the scope of the government, but also the private sector with most influence (eg. Blackrock, Larry Fink etc...). They've completely lost it with the policies they are pushing.

The system is broken, the bank failures are being swept under the rug, but they keep pumping up the markets, fucking idiots. This will end with a massive blow. The best case scenario is that it's only an economic collapse; opposed to a (nuclear) war.

    Beyond insane.

This is a total loss of confidence in the government. Can things possibly get any worse than this? When will people finally have enough?

Like what's next; what has to happen for the situation to normalize? Because it always does and it's stretched so far out it's about to snap any time now.....

What is it going to be? A civil war? A nuclear war?

As we know things do not go from an extreme back into equilibrium, but they tend to swing from one extreme into another, before finding equilibrium.
