  1. ‘They want to take power away from us’: Militias are stepping up as anti-maskers see lockdowns as the end of America

  2. According to a leading viruologist, this Fall will be “Covid hell”. If he is right, it probably would be be Trump’s undoing. It might be the drying and cracking of the mucus membranes during heating season that tends to cause spikes in infection rates with respiratory diseases.

Personally, I’m going to be so anal about PPE, the people at USAMRID would say “Damn”!

You don't have to be. It's so easy a caveman can do it.

Wear a mask, use hand sanitizer when you get back in your transport, and wash your hands with warm soapy water when you get home.

Then maybe we can all get back to normal, like taking airline flights without worry.

  5. Low relative humidity, say under 40% inside the home, the car, or at work due to the drying effects of heating is what does it, as I understand it. The infection rate of influenza then tapers off as large numbers of infected acquire immunity. If it is true that Covid-19 only provides 3 months or so of immunity after recovery of the infection, especially with older people, we are in for a long Fall/Winter season.

Boomers and autistics and autistic boomers like we have here can't tell it is farce half or all the time.

Loads of BB stuff gets posted as serious. Not as big a problem with the Onion. Maybe BB need to be more explicit.

  8. My ears are burning. While I never read the Babylon Bee, surely they don’t out do CNN on “News” stories?

In my work related travel I've seen some of the world. Basically I've worked launch operations at every known launch site on the planet and a few unknown sites.

Some countries I really enjoyed living in include France, Spain, Japan and the little island of Dominica. France is simply more advanced than the US when it comes to livability and human considerations. I did not care for the UK even though I'm mostly Scots. The food is just not enjoyable for me overall. Its hard to believe that the best food in the world is right across the Channel but it is.

But most of the rest of the world that I've seen makes the US seem like a good place to live, raise a family etc.

Doing exactly as you prescribe. Masked up before I leave the car. Hand sanitize when I return to the car. Warm soapy hand wash when I get home.

I do not, however, want to fly but I must get down to Panama collect my boat and my aviation friends are all west coast so I will have to fly commercial. If it was a round trip I would rent an aircraft but I'm going one-way. Sometimes it would just be easier to buy a Duchess or similar but I would not use it enough to justify the overhead. Just gonna mask up and grit my teeth for a few hours on a commercial flight.

I have started using the paper masks instead of N95. Hope that is adequate.
