"The special cash dividend is payable to shareholders of record on August 30, 2010 and will be paid on September 8, 2010." So this means buy the stock up to 8/30 & receive the dividend payment on 9/8?
http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2010...lcott_7867576.html?boxes=Homepagebusinessnews Shares of WC "traded" after Aug. 30 and before Sept 9 will have a due bill attached for the special cash dividend payable on Sept 8 a requirement of Nasdaq rules regarding dividends that exceed 25 percent of a company's stock price. Traded? That doesn't mean, if you sold between those dates you owe the equivalent of the dividend does it? ( attached due bill?) And "payable" can mean by the shareholder or to the shareholder. Imprecise language makes me cautious.
Normal dividends you just have to hold til ex-dividend dates right? But this one is special cuz the dividend made up 25%+ of their current value so to collect the dividend you have to hold it til Sept 8th?
Alot of good it does to wait for the dividend if its just going to tank on you its equivalent. Seems like nothing more than a legitimized pump and dump. Last one out? No reason for it to have ever climbed after the announcement in the first place.
