Here's a question.... China is the fastest growing economy in the world. Its kind of stupid to think a company needs "FCC approval" to sell their product. Ditto that other company, Powercast, that has a better system. Why would a company like this only spike after FCC approval? There's a whole giant up and coming world out there that doesn't give a flyin' rat's ass about our FCC. Makes no sense; ...which makes sense.
As a pioneer in wireless charging, Energous has a significant long-term potential. Short-sellers doubt that Apple will ever use Energous' wireless charging technology. However, VentureBeat reported that Energous and Apple have been working together since 2014.

Not saying its not true...I didn't read the article.... but 30% of the float (19M) is short.... that can motivate all kinds of nefarious activity on both sides. VentureBeat could have been fed a line. It happens. As a general rule of thumb....real takeovers are not proceeded by rumors. The announcement surprises the market. I'd be skeptical.
