LOL. The fact that Redskins' owner Dan Snyder supports republicans certainly had nothing to do with any of this. Would it kill the republican leadership to stand up for the team? We had 50 democrat senators getting involved. Why can't the republicans respond? Are they worried aobut losing the massive indian vote? Polls show sports fans and the public in general don't have a problem with the name. But just like with something like gay "marriage", when one side does all the talking and monopolizes the media and the other side says nothing, eventually the low information crowd is influenced.
The reps are not saying much because they want to shake the perception that they don't give a damn about minorities, groups that don't have a "massive" vote anyway.
@glennbeck: âIf Congress only pays attention to football teams then maybe Washington should name them the Washington Benghazis." #Redskins
Wanna distract the feeble minded liberals of this country so that they don't pay attention to real issues? Simply plant a story of "racism" in the media. Works every time.
You and every other honkie named Jack!! File a racial discrimination suit with the DOJ. Le't see what Holder does with THAT!!
Your point may be valid but I'm sick of liberals stirring up trouble over race. Native Americans weren't saying anything about the redskin's name until liberals got in their ear. Apparently, Native Americans had better things to worry about....but liberals couldn't let them be. There doesn't even have to be racial tension in this country but liberals would lose their edge if there was no racial tension.
You may well be right on that latter claim. If there was no racial tension I suspect there would be a lot less class tension as well (not implying any causation).
