wash sale rules.......there's another fanfuckingtastic set of rules.. does america want this? no. so why do we still have them???? do we want the pdt rules? no! yet we still have them..... do we like our income tax system? no! but we still have it....
Currently I'm contemplating staying out of stock trades during January '03, so I don't have to bother with the wash-sale rule. What if I (I've never traded futures before but) trade mini NASDAQ 100 futures during January? Do I still run into the wash sale rule? Does it depend on what stocks I traded during December of 2002? I've traded ORCL during December 02, a stock which is part of NASDAQ 100 index.
