We all have it, but it is extremely difficult for some of us to think independently because of our eusocial nature. Broad education and/or long life experience helps tremendously in acquiring this ability. We call it "good judgement," and it is developed to widely differing extents in individuals.
yes, but the skills needed to breed a good all around horse that can be ridden by children and pull a wagon are quite different than the skills it takes to breed a good race horse.
