You posted a video explaining how congress had given up authority to the President long ago, and how other Presidents had done things that were against the constitution, just like Trump doing this. But as is the case with just about every other instance of comparability, you only have a problem when Trump does it. Now, please show where billions are being stolen by Trump. Not some video of someone whose TDS matches your own, show me where the numbers specifically call it out and point to the theft.
What do you mean by left-leaning populists? Technically, Trump ran on a very left leaning populist platform considering his campaigned on stances on social security, Medicare, healthcare, taxes etc. I’m not saying that’s what he delivered but that is left leaning populism. That is not to be confused with economic socialism, the green new deal, repealing border laws, Medicare for all etc. These issues are not populist issues at all even though they may be far left issues. It’s an important distinction.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Federal budget year ends in Oct. The talk is about next years pentagon budget, not this years, Right? Next year's budget has a provision in the House bill forbidding any pentagon money from being diverted to building a wall. The Senate hasn't passed the bill yet. The house is not going to give an inch on this, it would seem. I don't think this business of using pentagon money to build the wall mexico is supposed to be paying for is going anywhere. It's just more Trump bullshit to fool his disciples.

Jack Reed of Rhode Island, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the Trump administration “is trying to circumvent Congressional authority” and said the action should be struck down by the courts. “If it stands, future Presidents will make similar end-runs to try and tap defense dollars for anything a President wants to label a ‘national emergency,’” Reed said, adding: “With this move, President Trump is short-changing our troops and taxpayers and forcing them to bear the burden of his broken, preposterous campaign promise.” The Pentagon has developed different accounting schemes to pay for the wall. It has already taken $2.5 billion that had been allocated for military personnel and transferred it into a counter-drug account, a move that gave the military authority to take measures to support federal law enforcement efforts to stop drug trafficking, such as building barriers. That money is now being used to build more than 120 miles of border wall. The Sierra Club, American Civil Liberties Union and Southern Border Communities Coalition are currently challenging the decision in the courts.
