ummm....the Android is already doing this and even though it's not talked about all Apple products are doing it to. Even Elite Trader is "watching you :D". They know who you are. One look at your IP address and they have your name, address, and probably much more. Welcome to the technological revolution. No implanted micro-chip needed -- just widget addiction.

And to address the economic aspects of this discussion....any company that makes widgets will have a limited economic advantage. Some company is always nipping at your heals if you're in the tech industry. There's a reason Buffett (sidenote -- lost all respect for him when he got into bed with GS, which is another topic for another thread) doesn't buy tech stocks. You can patent your products all you want but someone will eventually make a better widget with a different patent, and the technological revolution will continue to rock on!

Pamela Anderson? BSAM, get out of the 90's. Here's the hottest for 2012; Sofia Vergara for #1. Happy surfing :)

No mention of a micro-sd slot. It appears they are using Apple's pricing model of using different storage options/different price points and not allowing you to off-load your data on a chip.

My first reaction was I want it. Right now, it's at the head of the class for that price range. But 2 other events might happened within the next month and half.

The first one is probably not gonna be better. Next gen Kindle Fire. Rumored to be out by end of July. Specs should be similar to Nexus but my guess is that it's at best similar but more likely falls a little short. If they don't up the display resolution, they shouldn't even release it.

The second is more important but even more of a rumour. iPad mini would have a Retina display and similar specs to the iPad 3. The important question is price. They need to get it to at least $250. Better at $200 but doubtful since Apple actually wants to make money off their tablets. Even then $250 for a Retina display that can match the Nexus in weight as well as everything else. I would probably opt for that, even though I think one of the advantages of the Nexus is that it's not Apple.
