  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part of the problem is that people automatically assume that when more than one person shares the same complaint, it must be the same person. If a group of people go to a restaurant and all get equally bad service and then let's say they all go to a message board or a chat room like this one referencing that restaurants bad service, are you going to say that it must be the same person?

Some people like Fighting Scams start thread and then for some reason disappear. Perhaps the OTA paid shills who come on here scared him away, I don't know. It is unfortunate. I do agree with what that person wrote though.

Regarding education, I am all for it. I went to college and believe very strongly in education, HOWEVER, I also feel that education, like investing or trading should provide a ROI and that should be a student with more investment/financial savy, and a better educated student. I did not find that with OTA. What I did find was a lot of general basics across all of their programs. A lot of hustling. A lot of high pressure sales tactics and a real lack of professionalism. AND..despite multiple owners and a lot of employee turnover, at least regarding the office in Orlando and other OTA offices across the country based on what I have been hearing, nothing really has changed.

So if I can save just one person some heartache and prevent them from downsizing their wallet and bank accounts, I'll be happy. And unlike Fighting Scams and others who have come before me, I am not afraid of anyone and am going anywhere.

  4. 8am this morning they sent me an invitation to one of their Power Trading Workshops, no explanation for the actions of this office, no come on in and air your fellings with perhaps new management, just come to another Power Trading Workshop. For what? TO be held hostage for 1/2 day by their used car salesmen, to listen to more nonsense and be hustled to sign up for another worthless class?

This one was different in one way though; it shows me as a member of Elite Trader and apparently referred me to the local OTA office. I'm curious, has anyone else here recieved one? Do they really expect that after all that has been written here that we are going to go to another one of their glorified time share sales presentations?

Or perhaps our complaints to IBD, CNBC and other places regarding OTA's fullof crap claims, if not blatant false advertsing where they used to advertise at has forced them to look for other advertising avenues. Perhaps much less expensive forms of advertsing.

And obviously OTA isn't even checking to see if these ads are going out to former clients.

Hey, if OTA is trying to make an honest turnaround, I will be the first to applaud them and even support them. BUT...I can't help but think that it will just be more of the same b.s. Please OTA, prove me wrong.

I assumed wrong, but thanks for clarifying and helping me steer away from OTA.

I got an OTA ad in the mail. I had never signed up with them. But I had attended a free intro ad webinar of Tom Busby of DTI. They kept sending me spam after spam and then other affiliates which they probably sent my email to including OTA. DTI must be the biggest hog of spam trader education sites.

  7. Yeah that is what they emailed me too. Pretty much the same hogwash they sent me originally in the IBD promotions. They sure know how to create a lot of promises. Easy to promise, not so easy to deliver.

  10. Perhaps as a means to face the bad economic conditions and in an effort to drastically reduce costs, OTA is now conducting webinars out of their Orlando, Fl office and no doubt other offices around the country as well.

The webinars elimnate the costs of flying in a speaker from out of town and those great breakfasts and free lunch; cheap danish and soggy subs.

In any event, I recieved an invite to attend one of their webinars and figured what the heck, instead of driving to the other side of town, wasting gas and time of going to their local office, I could watch from the privacy of my own computer and not be held captive in a hostile enviroment and being harrassed by used car salesmen.

I also thought perhaps they would have something new. Something fresh. Boy was I surprised!

Same ole, same ole OTA. Same crap. Just one big sales pitch and the funniest part was that the video was distorted and the audio went out several times. Obviously this is a new attempt for OTA and obvioulsy as usual, OTA is going cheap, cheap, cheap to put together a program.

The good news is that at least I didn't waste 1/2 a day at their center and gas. The bad news was that I did waste about 1/2 hr of my time which could have been better spent doing something else. I didn't watch the whole program. Couldn't handle the childish, unprofessional manner that this was conducted. But then again, why should I be surprised? After all this is OTA and professionalism is not part of their arsenal.

So if you get an offer to attend an OTA webinar, by all means, sign up. At the very least you will get a really good laugh and if you have children under 10 years of age, you will know thet even they can do a better job at this than OTA.
