To bad the letter has been proven to be false. Trump should very publicly call their bluff. Say the word shitbirds and we're gone, say the word.
I needed a breather from the nonsense but am now ready to make my useless contribution to the endless political debate which changes no minds.
Not fake, just not honest: https://www.france24.com/en/20200106-us-military-tells-iraq-it-is-preparing-to-move-out-in-letter-1 “That letter is inconsistent with where we are right now,” Esper added. Pentagon Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley said Monday the letter was “genuine” but not intended to be sent at this time. “This was a mistake from McKenzie,” Milley told reporters, referring to US Central Command commander General Frank McKenzie.
I didn't say it was fake, it was just proven to be a false alarm, but yes, the most likely soon to be castrated General jumped the gun.
well you said proven to be false, not "false alarm", but why split hairs, that general is deep in it, we can agree to that. Question is whether he actually jumped the gun.
That's true, we may never really know and as I wrote, Trump should call their bluff. Isn't anyone going to cry over bringing all the troops home and watching Iraq meltdown. And yes, the General has just watched his career evaporate, even if he had a legit reason for writing the letter. Somebody got to be the scapegoat for such a snafu, and it's him.
So? The situation is what it is. If something happened tomorrow and the perpetrator had just entered this country from Iran, you'd be the first here to criticize things. I know how you are H4. So what is wrong with being extra vigilant? And don't give me some "Japanese interment camp" bs. Which I know is exactly what you would have written. There's no comparison. They didn't go to Detroit and start rounding up Iranians and arresting them. So wtf? Its a border crossing. Sorry for the inconvenience, we don't know you. Get over it or go home because you're not coming in our house until we know what the f you're about. Have a seat. And before you go off on "citizenship"... hey, customs has always given extra attention to people acting suspicious or aggressive, regardless of the fact they were U.S. citizens.
