There is considerable speculation and buzz in Washington today suggesting that the National Security Council has agreed in principle to proceed with plans to attack an Iranian al-Qods-run camp that is believed to be training Iraqi militants. The camp that will be targeted is one of several located near Tehran. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was the only senior official urging delay in taking any offensive action. The decision to go ahead with plans to attack Iran is the direct result of concerns being expressed over the deteriorating situation in Lebanon, where Iranian ally Hezbollah appears to have gained the upper hand against government forces and might be able to dominate the fractious political situation. The White House contacted the Iranian government directly yesterday through a channel provided by the leadership of the Kurdish region in Iraq, which has traditionally had close ties to Tehran. The US demanded that Iran admit that it has been interfering in Iraq and also commit itself to taking steps to end the support of various militant groups. There was also a warning about interfering in Lebanon. The Iranian government reportedly responded quickly, restating its position that it would not discuss the matter until the US ceases its own meddling employing Iranian dissident groups. The perceived Iranian intransigence coupled with the Lebanese situation convinced the White House that some sort of unambiguous signal has to be sent to the Iranian leadership, presumably in the form of cruise missiles. It is to be presumed that the attack will be as “pinpoint” and limited as possible, intended to target only al-Qods and avoid civilian casualties. The decision to proceed with plans for an attack is not final. The President will still have to give the order to launch after all preparations are made.

  2. The attack of Iran will most likely happen closer to the election date - a window from late October to late December of this year (God help us all!!!)

  3. In addition, hopefully this time we wont have 346,000 US troops exposed AND showing various signs of DEPLETED URANIUM exposure!

"The Depleted Uranium Munitions Study Act, introduced by Rep. Jim McDermott, D-WA, in May of last year, would require the Pentagon to conduct a long-term study on the effects of exposure to depleted uranium. McDermott also is a physician, and he says the increase in birth defects among Iraqi children since the first Gulf War shows a need for this study.

"The military keeps saying there's no problem, but what I saw in Iraq makes me feel like I'm going though Vietnam again with what they said about Agent Orange."

The U.S. military uses depleted uranium in many of its weapons because of its armour-piercing capabilities. When depleted uranium strikes a target, small particles of the high-density metal are released into the air. Soldiers on the battlefield may inhale those particles, or worse, have depleted uranium fragments embedded in their bodies.

"We should not expose our troops to something that we have not studied carefully and know what the problems may or may not be," says McDermott"

:( What a sad world we live in.

We all know it's going to happen. The hardest part is probably dealing with the fact that every single act is staged.

No words exists to describe our world..

  6. FU*(&( Idiots on this site.

IRAN is a key cause of a lot of the HEZZY's Power. They are backing Terror world wide and funding it faster than you idiots can loose your money trading.

Should the WEST wait till Iran has few nukes? Of course most of you "Freeloaders" on this site would want to wait.

It is very unlikely that IRAN will be attacked this early. ISRAEL will be the first blow backed by US opps and Intel.

So, for all you f*(%^ pussies on this site. Don't worry, America will not be the ones flying the actual missions, it will be ISRAEL.

Iran attacked and Oil goes to $200 instantaneously.

US/West rest of the world goes into not recession but depression. What else would the AQ and fanatics want.......that would make recruitment 10 times easy for them.

Do not think so, US cannot afford another war with a nation in middle east. Does not make strategic sense!

This thread should move to Chit Chat quickly.

    :D

  10. I don't expect us to attack Iran but your views are the kind of thinking that got us into the Iraq war. The neo's have all the children scared of their own shadows, I've never seen such a frightened group of people before. It was only a few months ago the neo's had all the scared children ready to attack N Korea with the same argument they used to scare you into supporting the Iraq war and the same argument they are using to scare you into supporting a war with Iran.
