Who said she doesn't have the right? Here's your bullshit again. You post quotes of "partisan" Republicans opposing IRAQ when NOTHING IN THIS THREAD has to do WITH IRAQ!

  2. From the very first post in this thread, of which is the topic:

"I said, `what would truly bring healing is to start working on changing your policy towards the Middle East...as President, you're here to serve the people. And the people are not being served with this war."

    and from the same post:

Halley tells me that she told the President that she's been opposed since "day one" to both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hey Pa(b)st your prime, check your world map when you sober up, you will find Iraq in the Middle East, and a very big part of Bush policy in the Middle East, a very big part of the wife's concerns regarding Bush policy and wars there.

    Doh!

    Please, don't drink and post...

I take it you were against USA invading Afghanistan.
Is there any threat, any regime that USA should oppose?

Why do you take it that way?

What I don't understand is invading Afghanistan to find the men who engineered and directed 9/11 and abandoning that job to start an unnecessary war in Iraq. Why did we not finish the job of crushing Al Quaeda?

Is there any threat, any regime that USA should oppose?

The USA should oppose all threats, domestic and foreign.

Why should the USA support threats?

The question is how best to oppose those threats.

Bush's methods don't appear to be working, as the threat of nuclear weapons in North Korea is unchecked, and the threat of Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons is also unchecked.

Iraq is a disaster by more than just the democrats point of view. More and more Rebpublicans are speaking out against the failures and mistakes there, and a reasonable person has to wonder why Rumsfeld still has a job.

America has less support from allies than perhaps at any time in the past 100 years or more, and yes, allies are important in a world wide police action against organized terrorist groups.

Our borders are mostly open, our ports are unchecked to a great extent. We have an estimated 15 to 20 million illegals in our country.

The government is cutting funding for cities in the area of homeland security, and the government itself as represented by the executive branch is far less than transparent, which is also a threat. We are safest when our government is transparent to the voters of America, and a secretive government with a weakening check and balance system, is a genuine threat.

The government doesn't take care of veterans the way it should, which is a threat, as angry veterans, pissed off at the government's actions are a threat (think Tim McVeigh). We are producing a whole generation of Iraq War veterans, who according to many psychologists, are suffering from mental problems that are not being effecitvely treated. Mentally unstable vets, are a threat if not treated properly.

Poverty levels are increasing, which is a threat.

China is growing stronger, which is a threat.

We have seen more terrorist activity worldwide after 9/11 than before 9/11.

We see that Afghanistan is still producing and selling drugs...drugs which end up being sold on the streets of America, which lead to much of the crime we have in America, a genuine threat.

We have no national health care, which is a threat.

Education is a mess, which is a threat.

Katrina revealed we are not prepared for natural disasters...a genuine threat.

We are no less dependent to any great extent on foreign oil, a genuine threat.

Yes, the USA should oppose genuine and real threats, but again, "staying the course" is what Bush is doing, has done, just isn't really doing much about the various threats....IMO.
