Getting crap thrown at you in the political area is expected, at least in some degree. If your a politician or swim in their swamp, it doesn’t matter what you do, the opposition will spin it, twist it to fit a narrative, tis’ just part of the game. When innocent citizens (in this case children) are sacrificed on the alter of manufactured political narratives, then it becomes a problem.
No such thing happened NYT reported something, issued a correction and if I recall everyone else went by these corrected news
Just to be clear fro the record: The teenager did nothing wrong He actually did the right thing by trying to keep others from instigating The native American guy approached him and he has lied about his service and is scum The group of teenagers were harrassed by a racist group yelling things at the kids and those people were never criticized and they are fucktards. The media took a snipped of the story and ran with it, but did not attempt to lie, just got excited there was something that fit their narrative The media did a half ass job of reporting the full story after and were too much of a bunch of pussies to correct their wrong. The fact that social media still went after the kid after the full story was reported is the fuckery of social media and no one controls that. The kid can sue but in freedom of the press and large path of error afforded the media in quick reporting, the lawsuit claiming $250 million is just a publicity push and a little ridiculous. The settlement was for some amount to "apologize" to the kid but was not a large amount and the fact that he is suing 12 other media outlets means the other outlets are just going to brush him off because they will win in court.
i agree it is different to an extent for politicians than for civilians but the same standard applies to the media regardless of the subject in many ways. One way of putting it, this is the price of a free press. Just like in free speech we sometimes have to put up with properly permitted KKK parades (some here will call them Trump rallies.... sorry I set myself up for that), we have to live with media over reaching quickly at times and half asses retractions. CNN settled because they wanted it to go away quickly with confidential arrangements. If I represented the other oulets getting sued I would tell them to forget CNN and fight the lawsuit. Sadly the media will win this one. The media did not lie, they rushed the story without having the full video or facts which happens 99% of the time daily. They later retracted. We can all agree the rushed story was bullshit and the retraction/apology was even bigger bullshit but the court is not going to decide subjectively on that issue.... CNN caved. Washington Post/Amazon might try to save face as well...who knows.
They lied. For sure they did. And they doubled down over and over. And never apologized. Today’s MSM are modern Holocaust deniers. Lying fuckheads pushing a narrative. The absolute best thing Trumpy has done, love him or hate him, is expose the Fake News for who they are and what they are up to.
Yeah like Hannity did this: In August, white supremacists marching in Charlottesville, Va., were met by protesters, and violence ensued. A reported supporter of the white supremacists plowed his car into protesters, killing one of them. President Trump blamed “both sides” for the violence, and both Republican and Democratic leaders condemned his remarks. Not Fox News’s Hannity, though. He questioned the whole event, passing along a conspiracy theory that there weren’t even actual protesters at the rally -- they were “actors hired by a publicity firm.” Or this nugget: Trump has repeatedly dredged up a conspiracy theory that MSNBC host and former Republican Rep. Joe Scarborough (FL) may have murdered one of his interns, tweeting, “When will they open a Cold Case on the Psycho Joe Scarborough matter in Florida. Did he get away with murder? Some people think so.” I like this one too Trump has repeatedly suggested that he believes vaccines cause autism—despite the fact that these claims have been thoroughly debunked. During one 2016 presidential primary debate, he claimed to have had several employees whose children developed autism due to vaccination oh this lie where he was not even there.. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly claimed to have personally seen “Arabs” in New Jersey celebrating the destruction of the World Trade Center: “I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down.” Not only has no evidence of Trump’s claim ever emerged, but he has also separately claimed to have been in Manhattan at the time. lying about deaths Multiple news outlets havereported that Trump intends, without any evidence, to cast doubts on the overall U.S. death toll from the coronavirus. He’s already done so for Hurricane Maria: “3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. … This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico.” Yeah....MSM lies according to you...and you believe Dumpy is the free from lying that has exposed MSM when the fucktard gets all his theories from FOX news...
Please show me one post where I said Trumpy wasn’t a liar. He’s a huge liar! A giant fucking liar. But let’s not compare a POTUS lying about silly shit vs media lying about a child to downvote a POTUS they don’t like.
