I agree with the other guys who said build it yourself.

www.tigerdirect.com has many parts with quick shipping. Motherboards, video cards, monitors, whatever you need.

If you build it yourself, trouble shooting is a breeze because you know the machine inside out.

  3. What's the difference between these? Does it have to do with the type of RAM?

As always, thanks for your input.:)

  4. I beat my brains in on this and other sites. Steve
Hernandez at SYS built me a killer without monitors delivered in 7 days for $1,500. He knew I knew zero about computers. I printed off Baron's thing about trading computers here, highlighted what he seemed to find important and parroted it to Steve.
I liked the calls from him and the attitude that all sales are important regardless of price. I also liked the way he handled the video card issue
for traders - admitted he was not familiar with all the different brands (nor was I) but he found out from wherever and got back to me fast.

He can be reached at shernandez@sys.com. I plug him because my secretary, wife and I struck out trying to navigate Dell, IBM, and many other places for this and a number of other computers that I will be buying for other than trading. I found Steve by emailing SYS a half filled out computer order form and asking for help, however, for the experienced computer person, the SYS order screen had a ton of choices for the various components you might want from what I could see.

I will report on its operation later. I have to have a technician come in to do software, my cable, ISP and all that BS. So all I'm saying is I liked the idea of a real person on my order. Haven't a clue yet whether those 4 monitors will work the way I envision!

I found out about NewEgg.com at http://www.resellerratings.com and my experience with NewEgg has been nothing but superb for price, quality and service.

Before you buy from any online computer parts vendor check them out at ResellerRatings!!

  6. Many thanks for that website...One of the re-sellers I had considered for a back up PC received horrendous ratings...Fortunately, I found this site in the nick of time
