  1. this is the $costaveragemans$ journal, a journal ive followed for some time, i dont really understand what he does, but it works, and thats top notch as far as im concerned.

If you dont like the idea that someone who makes some cash, may, potentially wish to spend it in some manner, then..................

If your objection is pure anti hunting, perhaps you should start a thread in chit chat.

FWIW, im not a hunter, not much of a shooter, which begs the question.......
What the Heck, IS your objection? You have a problem with, what-hunting, guns, game, eating meat, TRADING SUCCESSFULLY???

REPEAT, in case nobody NOTICED, i was merely providing an alternative to the inevitable backlash of STUPID that was likely to flow from your pc post, thanks very much.

Edit; sorry costaverageman, this is your journal, and a DAMN GOOD one, imo.
I would like to think the mods would simply clean up this mess, with no interruption, but it appears this is a sensitive issue, to those that are ridiculously sensitive.

  2. Go start your own thread...put it in chit chat....and you can talk about PETA, global warming, socialism, communism, or whatever else you'd like....I reiterate....this thread is not yours...it's not about you....and your opinion means nothing. Now SCAT!

  3. WOW....Just logged back in....Funny.... 1st post in 2 months in this journal and the journal gets wrecked like it is in chit chat...

    Just kidding!!!!

Thanks everyone who stuck up for me.....Maybe I should of posted the pictures of the ice in Alaska or the mountain of chips I had in front of me at the Black Jack table on our cruise...But what fun is that....Any how I was more proud of my trip to Africa...Remember I was raised in Mississippi and hunting is just as common as going to church on Sunday....I forget sometimes about the sensitivity of others and I apologize if I offended anyone!!!!

But this has been a dream of mine since I was a boy and I too also feel like the market is all about the hunter and the prey!!!!

MARKET TALK---I'm enjoying those short positions currently

  7. And that Africa trip is sure a life long dream type experience many would like to share...

I'm legging out of my floaters (50% out) and into short - intermediate term bond CEF's which look bid significantly last few days particularly. Still holding a short long bond position as a multi-year structural play but starting to think about just getting out and then back in much lower as massive inflation is simply not happening (or not being reported). Cash still OK for next 6 mos but after that declining yields most likely.

Still overweight energy cef's and canroys for yields like you... TYN doing quite nicely into hurricane season.

You might wish to check out RNO for kicks.

Curious to see your updated spreadsheet.

  10. wabrew

    wabrew

Question - if possible, can you elaborate ?

If you are 25% short and you are long these reverse X 2 funds, does this really mean you are 50% short?

We all know how good your stock picking has been in the past, but if you are 50% short and 50% long.....then
--- ?even with excellent stock picking will you be able to do better than a risk free return?
