Just a thought -(aka promoting) you look underweight on Spain and Drugs/pharmacy. Look at BNT. Pricy and may not have found bottom yet - but lots of long term potential. Quote from earns report......
"One of our strategic and financial goals in 2005 was to continue expanding Bentley's revenue base beyond Spain. We made significant progress toward this goal, as we leveraged our low-cost manufacturing and marketing capabilities to expand our position in the European market. We expect to continue growing our revenues outside Spain in 2006." Sales outside Spain reached $27.9 million (29% of total revenues) in 2005, up from $14.3 million (19% of total revenues) in 2004. As of December 31, 2005, Bentley executed 142 license agreements for product registrations. Seventeen of these agreements with customers in Spain and 64 with customers outside Spain cover actively marketed, revenue-generating products. Of the remaining licenses, two are with customers in Spain and 59 are with customers outside of Spain; they cover products awaiting regulatory approvals"

    For foreign stocks

do you think their own stock in their country leads the stock price
or do their ADRs in NYSE/NASDAQ lead the stock price?

Hard to tell with ADR's.....My best guess is that how the stock performs on it's own market usually dictates the ADR's strength or Weakness in the US...One thing though, When the US is very weak it will pull down the ADR's mostly because of SUPPLY and DEMAND reasons....One thing I have noticed is that thinly traded ADR's can suffer greatly when the US is weak that day...No Buyers and the Market Maker just lets the price slide even if host country was average for the day....I imagine some real arbitrage could be put in on thinly traded ADR's if someone knew what they were doing...

  6. The other Yahoo in Play stock that saved my A#S on Friday

Just got a gov't. contract for Bio Diesel for Gov't. vehicles

OTD--O2diesel Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to develop additive product to improve the performance of distillate liquid petroleum fuels to burn cleaner by facilitating the addition of ethanol as an oxygenate to these fuels. The Group's product is O2Diesel which is a fuel made from soybean oil, other vegetable oil & animal fats. The additive stabilizes and enhances the blending of fuel grade ethanol with diesel fuel. The Group is in the development stage and has operations in the United States, Canada and Brazil.

    Hamlet

    Cost,

Nice mitigation on Friday, it's amazing what you can do with tools that are available to everyone. What was it that made you feel comfortable that you weren't chasing (especially considering that OLAB barely trades normally!)?

  10. Hamlet,
I kept a relatively tight trailing stop on OLAB that day....One thing I have always noticed is that when the market is getting smacked in the face by the bears there will always be a few equities that just fly higher(Sometimes for no real reason)....I imagine all the noise traders were trying to salvage the day and were piling into what was working when they finally figured out we were going for a dive on friday...Short term individual equity bubbles are created by the masses all piling into the same thing near the same time....You gotta hope to be there early for it to work....The ARB's aren't going to step in and bring things back to reality on the first day of a huge pop like that...It's too dangerous for the ARB's to call tops early when the masses are piling on like they were Friday and Monday morning on OLAB.

I was watching the 2,5,10 year on friday morning and the European markets all signaled a sell off coming.....I put up counter measures early and they did the job......message about Japanese Rates going higher spooked everyone.....Ever since we crossed 4.85 on the 10 YR I have been getting worried about a short term correction,(At least were not inverted NOW) But feel like this may be a good earning season with the exception of tech...(because of option expensing and no guidance and surplus of International competition)
