  1. Hey everyone.....I'm Back, but still on vacation....The wife some old friends and I have been relaxing in Vail, Colorado for about a week now....We have had some beautiful weather in the past few days....

This doesn't mean however that I haven't been paying attention to the markets...Just this forum and THE EXCEL UPDATES have suffered....Not to worry though---I spent about four hours last night updating Excel and getting all transactions in properly and on the proper days sheet.....

It's nice being on Western Time....Markets open up here at 7:30 am and I usually leave the condo to ski around noon...We splurged a little--- So all I got to do is put the boots on and ski down a hill to hit the lift..The wife thinks this has not been the best of vacations cause I brought 3 laptops with me...HAHA...But I showed her how well we did last week and she went shopping.....Big Mistake!!!!

Lesson 1--Never let the wife know if you had a good or bad day in the market.

    BLA....BLA...BLA....To the markets right!!!!

So I believe I left off the day of the FED meeting....WOW how time flies....That was a crazy day...I could list all transactions made, but it's on excel......Basically I was a seller that day of US EQUITY...But I was buying JAPAN, TAIWAN, SINGAPORE, CHINA, BRAZIL, INDIA, OIL, and GOLD.....Some Europe was purchased, but very little....

Was I correct.....Very much SO!!!!-----The rally was very nice for US equities last Wed....But you should of seen how strong ASIA equities have been this week....I remember I had a day where like 50 stocks were up over 3% and then did it again the next day and the next day.....Thats consistent strength in the international markets and my play on GOLD/SILVER and OIL stocks was a great short term momentum move....Some of these little gold/Silver stocks Gapped open Last Thursday like 8%...I was dumping on the open....It was beautiful.....

I have been in the company of one of my oldest friends and his wife on this vacation....I have had him sit with me almost every morning to play around in his account....Needless to say---He paid for his whole vacation by taking on a little risk..(WED--bought FTGX and sold THURS was his best trade about 20%)..He bought me 12 oz Filet that night....It was quite tasty.....

THURSDAY-was very active as well----I had many price targets taken out that day....And started thinking about International airliners again as a petroleum hedge, Industrials, MON and ADM...

Friday was a bore of a day!!!

    Monday was Beautiful!!!

Todays Transactions---( I needed a CASH POSITION...Was 99.8% invested going into today....Not very smart while your on Vacation....But I brought the trading equipment with me)....

It's just hard to understand how I'm in here typing to strangers and looking at charts when I could be skiing in VAIL...(ticker:MTN)
I felt like I left everybody in the dark that was reading my forum and have been feeling quite bad about it..

NOTE: Today All speculative Fiber plays are getting crushed!!!...I don't own them but I watched this happen today

  2. So you made $237000 Friday. What do you think when you make that kind of money which previously took you 4 years of hard work to make ? I am wondering what the mental/emotional effect is of having that kind of success. Do you feel pressure to keep it going? Do you wonder if you should just quit while you are ahead? How much money does one person need anyways? I suppose if you can stay consistent there is no reason for you to stop.. maybe if you have so much money you can start donating to charities, etc.

  3. Hey all

Well so far the Q2 portfolio is performing way better than I originally expected.....If you didn't notice from the Excel sheet I have over weighted the portfolio to International equities.....I really am not that familiar with some of the companies and countries, so I placed many bets all over the place.....Sticking with the over diversification theme.....

    99.7% Invested in Equites
    59.3% International

  4. How does one define success? Success to me is the hope that one day I can give this all to my kids in the form of US tresuries and they can conservatively live off of a 5% yield for the rest of thier lives....Then Generation after Generation can continue to live off the yield and I will feel that all my hard work and sweat will secure my families future long after I am gone....That is GOAL number one and If I succeed I can go to my grave knowing I did it...My wife and I built this from nothing but a timber sale in Missisippi and hard work...My wife and I truely feel that success come in many forms, but to know your grand childrens children are going to be well off.......That is the true American Dream......I still expect them to work as 2 of the 3 currently have very good jobs and one is still in school.....

Making this kind of money daily feels very acomplishing....But I treat everyday as a game.....And the season has many wins and many losses, but the goal is to have a winning record.....I have played poker my whole life and the greatest lesson I have learned is minimize your losses on bad hands/bad beats....Don't over extend your bets...And GREED IS GOOD....BTW---If you think my investing is good you should see me in VEGAS at the high roller table....I can clean house and have done exceptionally well in large tournaments....I placed 9th in the last big tournament I played.....I have yet to play in one of the WSOP events, but I may be there next year....I Understand that the market is the biggest CASINO in the world!!!!

The pressure is gone....I have accomplished more in the last 8 years than I ever thought I could accomplish.....If my portfolio where all of a sudden be cut in half....I would still be back to where I was in December 2005.....That is amazing to me.....I guess my invesments are always on my mind, But more the thought of where to invest next...(Kind of a glass half full perception of the market....Or at least currently)

In the way of Charities....I am sponsoring 11 children currently all over the WORLD....I use my Divedends to do this and it really makes me feel better than just giving it to a church or charitable organization....There is curruption in Charities and this way I have a relationship with the sponsored children....I love what John Travolta did for New Orleans---Instaed of giving money, he packed a whole plane with goods a flew it to the victims....That man knows about all the red tape in charities....

  5. Amazing.

    How did you do it?

  6. I just Crunched some more numbers to see where the portfolio stands....

    Currently

    Large Cap-38.87%
    Mid Cap-23.21
    Small Cap-35.09
    Options-.079%
    Open ended Mutual Funds-3.51%

If you didn't notice Last Wed. I sold 3 Large US Mutual Funds....Fid. Contra Fund--- (+0.70%) for 2006, Fid Value Fund--(+5.29%) for 2006, Fid US equity Fund--(+4.85%) for 2006.....

This is decent performance for a Mutual Fund, but I for one felt like International was a better play and Wed. was a good strong day to cash out....

I already flipped the money around last week in some trades and made more than the Funds made me all year....It really pays to do your own research.....Even when you are on Vacation.....I am getting about 3 hours of skiing in everyday and that is plenty for me at my age.....Today I hit up the China Bowl at Vail and played around there until the lifts closed.....Some very nice runs here at Vail....It really is the Best Mountain in the world....I have been to plenty to know......

The wife is worried about DELTA and her friends that work with her.....Not really the income....She just enjoys flying and visiting the world....I think she has been to about 60% of the world.....

Hey you RISK TAKERS out there....Delta pilots will strike on April 14th if they don't get to keep their contracts....Delta has already hinted that if they do strike they will go to pure liquidation....(DALRQ.PK)......Could be an easy short position and an easy 100% gain.....Not very familiar with shorting Bankrupt Pink Sheet Stocks.....GL and HF and remember where you heard it first!!!!

    Hi $COSTAverageMAN,

could you take us through your investment approach ? How do you invest in all those stocks ? Fundamental research ? Technical analysis ? News plays ? Or is it just your "gut feeling" which tells you what to buy ?

    Greetings,
