No, no deer flies. Loads of wasps though. I think there may have been a few nests around. I already had an intense fear and dislike of those critters due to some childhood incidents, so that did not endear them to me at all.
Haha, aw, it's still a house in the city, just the mountaneous outskirts of it. Plenty of other people around.
You just have to keep positive indoor air pressure to keep those bugs out. Might get expensive running the HVAC like that 24/7 though.
Hang a bunch of dried gourds with holes in them. The Martins will move into them and they will really cut down the mosquitoes, deer flies, and pretty much any other flying pest.
