Uptick: I talked to my friend and he says Omega is THE WATCH in that price range. Here's one in a white dial. Betya can beat that price by a hun or two. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-OMEGA-SEAMA...930482737QQcategoryZ31387QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I think I will go with an Omega. I like that one you posted, Pabst. Not sure if I like the dial on that one so the search continues. Thanks to all for the suggestions. If anyone has any good feedback on an online dealer please post. Thanks
invicta is a good brand for your price range. real watch fanatics call rolexes "texas timex"--- but i do like the daytona and submariner. if you want to be a fanatic like me, take a look at franck muller, panarai, patek phillipe, roger dubuis, audemar piquet, girard-perregaux, and pierre kunz. then you will need to buy a winder to wind your very expensive watches. don't start! it can be an obsession of the worst kind. LOL ! surfer ps. if you obsessed with owning the best, may i suggest this catalog http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/07...f=pd_bbs_1/104-1047637-0707119?_encoding=UTF8 in addition, never buy new. preowned will save you 1000's off these wrist sports cars. check out http://www.tic-tock.com/wingates/watch-search/Franck Muller/
For the money: TIMEX................ Keeps on ticking. Even after a licking in the mkts. no need to run to the local pawn shop.
Check out Abacus & YES if you want to look unique. Not a couple 100thousand pennies but different and unique. I wear an Abacus ( no hands & no digital) on some occasions. Well, when you can afford to call it off by three freakin minutes. Bet you wont find a more unusual and attractive watch than this one! The YES - Only because I personally reuse to spend the $800.00 ( of my money) on a watch. I love the single hand concept!! Good reliable merchant too. http://www.timequestwatches.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/aba861049at240.jpg http://www.timequestwatches.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/abacusat300sample.jpg http://www.timequestwatches.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/yes-asst-560.jpg http://www.timequestwatches.com/index.html The ball in the Abacus can be knocked out of place but swirling it around back into position is a part of the uniqueness of using this timepiece. http://www.timequestwatches.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/abacus-digram300.jpg
I've bought a few nice watches on eBay. As Omega's go, I have this collectable myself: http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Seamaster...929586493QQcategoryZ31387QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This seller has sold me a two watches and I have had no problems. I also have this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-AUTOM...929786295QQcategoryZ31387QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This is my favorite outlet. He has sold me three watches. I have recommended these two sellers to several of my friends also. No one has had a problem at any level. Hope this helps.
Not only are those watches horrifyingly ugly, but what is the point of having a watch if you have to "guesstimate" the actual time?
Now you're talkin! Love Franck Muller and Audemars Piguet (crazy expensive though). Big fan of the chronographs... http://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/timepieces/sport_ie.html?collection=1 http://www.franckmullerusa.com/
The point? Well; as I said: "if you want to look unique" and- as if YOU are always to the minute punctual - or have that pressing docking coordination with a space station traveling at 25,000 mph to go to work?? As for ugly vs. attractive - Your opinion most certainly would be as valid as mine.
a man of fine taste, i see. the audemar's offshore is one of my faves---on list for next aquisition. by the way, ebay--when dealing with a reputable dealer is a good way to get 50-60% off on these watches. surfer ps if anyone wants a cool watch but dont want to drop the coin--- these fit the bill imho http://www.simoncarter.net/watches1.htm http://www.matchgoods.com/golf.asp?category=golf-antiques&page=golf.asp
