And that's a great analogy. But if the CDC/WHO and various country's health agencies had come out and said things like "Speed doesn't kill, drive as fast as you want. There is no evidence that speed kills people...etc" then there'd be a whole lot of people going "huh...speed doesn't kill?" I'm being intentionally absurd with your example, but its the same parallel.
No problem at all. Just do me the favor and point me to the legislation specifically requiring people to wear a mask?
That's the problem, isn't it? Some jurisdictions are not acting quickly or responsibly enough. But that doesn't mean you can't take responsibility for yourself, your loved ones and your community at large.
I do. I wear a mask in places I can't social distance. But there's no legislation for this. There are mandates but no laws.
I can make lots of cool videos as well, and I don't disagree with any of them. Doesn't change the fact that the CDC, the WHO and many health departments of many european countries specifically say that masks don't help. This doesn't help the conversation, does it?
Do they really need to pass a full law through the State legislature? This is a temporary issue so often these are done with ordinances or executive order type proclamations, such as issuing tickets or fines for a behavior based on a medical emergency. Like they do not need to pass a law to mandate evacuations when a hurrican is coming, they can issue an emergency declaration.
Not for me. But we're not talking about me. For others, they might require the order to follow it. They may not see the risk you and I do. Much of this is subjective.
