http://www.elitetrader.com/ch/transcripts/marketsurfer_chat.cfm Andre (Apr 2, 2003 12:09:28 PM) Ok, after all that, today, we welcome David Goodboy to the Elite Trader chat room. You may have heard him a few years back as a daily commentator/stock picker for the Infinity/CBS nationally syndicated radio show "E*trade On-Air. marketsurfer (Apr 2, 2003 12:10:22 PM) good afternoon, I would like to thank everyone for attending this little chat session today. Particular thanks to Baron and Andreâ for providing the forum and promotion needed for the success of this venture.
Haha! No shit. Well, looks like he still can't get his mind off this place. I've had a few girlfriends get like that after it was time to go out separate ways.
HAHA, wasn't Marketsurfer banned a long time ago from elite? It's super funny to see how he changed from a total gann freak to whatever he(d) evolved into on the Surf Report. Regardless, looks like he is hitting some success anyway with the media. Kudos!
HAHAHAHAHAHA The funnniest thing about this is the last 2 paragraps, i love how they go from the lowest of the low, "the ghouls" to their own personal power ratings, as if they are giving out some kind of freebie to protect the newbie, i wonder when they are gonna come out and define the "chickenhawks," the category which they so adequately fit. I find it soooooo funny that they lead in from "ghouls" to pitching their system, HAHAHA. For some reason they neglect to define "professional Scheisters." Now that we have shown all of you the "truly" evil people that exist in the world of investing just pay 29.95 and we will hold your hand while you make millions....Just be sure to avoid the REAL thieves we would not want you wasting your money on needless crap... LOL.... This just made my weekend... Anyone catch this besides me?? The final and most dangerous broad category of poster is the finance ghoul. Ghouls have an agenda to mislead and confuse you. Unlike simple trolls, ghouls can be intelligent sounding and are difficult to identify without much experience on a particular site. Look for strange or difficult to understand verbiage, often within scientific sounding prose. Some ghouls are simply misled souls who really mean no harm, but can lead you down the rabbit hole of misinformation. Others seem to genuinely like to confuse and obfuscate simple issues in an effort to appear superior since they understand the topic and you do not. The dangerous thing about ghouls is they can appear to know what they are talking about while it is actually simple nonsense. While reading or posting on a finance forum, keep alert for anyone who seems to answer your questions or contributes with pseudo academic or scientific words that really make no sense when taken in context. You may be dealing with a ghoul. While valuable information can be gleaned from financial message boards, traders are much better off relying on statistically proven methods to choose stocks for short-term gains. Our Stock PowerRatings is one such tool that has stood the test of time for picking stocks primed for out performance in the 1, 2 and 5-day time frames. There is really no need to follow ghouls, trolls or even bull/bear types for your stock picking decision making. Stock PowerRatings is a numerical rating system based on statistically valid studies since 1995. It was discovered that stocks earning a 7 outperformed the average stock at a 2.9 to 1 margin, those with an 8 outperformed by a 5.8 to 1 margin, 9 rated stocks outperformed by a 10.1 to 1 margin and the top ranked 10 stocks crushed the average stock at a 14.7 to 1 margin within the next 5 days. As you can see, using Stock PowerRatings as a stock picking tool clearly places the odds for short-term success in your favor. Happy Halloween and watch out for the financial ghouls and trolls!! Here are 5 ten ranked PowerRatings stocks for your consideration:
Pekelo I don't know, man, they claim to have the stats and studies to back up those claims. Anyone have personal experience or facts if that stuff works? His stock picks looked free to me--- no charge. P
I don't have too much confidence in their rating system as ETM has an "10" rating and was down almost 10% today. Click on the power rating, 10/30 Opening PowerRatings Past 5 days: "10." Helen Keller probably could've picked something at random that would've performed better today than this "10."
Yeah, that does suck. But overall, do they perform as claimed? You can't cherry pick the losers to be fair. From what I have read the theory makes sense, but I don't trade stocks. I think the more the stock drops, as long as it is above the 200 day SMA, the rank stays high. I did read and liked Connors book on the idea.
Every single a-hole on the net CLAIMS to have stats and studies to back their stuff up, the fact that they try to categorize everyone else as evil while they do the same thing is laughable.
You seem to enjoy spamming Marketsurfers articles: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2614822 How are you doing, Surf?
Funny, I didn't even know those 2 articles were by the same guy. I did a google search, he writes some interesting material. Thanks for the heads up!
