I always understood the formula as the minimum age for the girl, compared to the guy. Thus I disagree with the Urban Dictionary:

"For instance, this formula should not be used to justify a 60 year old man dating a 37 year old female."

Actually, that would be still acceptable, but not much below 37. Now Hef being 86 and his new/old runaway bride being 26, that makes it 3 generations removed, thus the girl is marrying his great grandpa....

23:34 sandra navidi. for some traders when a woman enters in the trading world looks like sandra would dubbed her MADAM. there are some boss or bosses in the house hire madam for their extreme successful traders only. part of the perk.

14:11 this hedge funds office looks more like a backoffice to me. It doesn't mean the hedgefund office looks more like mortgage or insurance office is not successful. however, the design of the office makes a big difference to relieves stress and build confidence when trading

14:02 Christina Bartnikowski COO. when the boss of the hedge fund hire a pretty woman COO or CFO, the reason maybe is to use her looks and voice to bring in big new managed accounts. Afterall, trading world is MEN world. lots of pig legs.

  4. Age difference is less important than IQ and EQ differences.

My age differences were 7, 20 and 16. Sort of a repeat then added a generation. IQ's were all about the same not too much difference. EQ's improved, probably because of fields of expertise.

Ski instructor for first, first class of women out of Princeton (science) for second, and finance for third. Between marriages always were Sierra Club chick category (See Justice Douglas for mutual fem friends).

They were traders. 30K on 100K typical monthly but not a sustainable interest compared to their presonal forte's.

  5. There is a financial channel that operates out of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. They make arrangements by phone and will pick you up at Newark airport or downtown NYC if you prefer (limmo).

Usually they are interested in particular topics but they are open to topics they are weak in (like high velocity money trading). They expect you to dialog with their regulars. BS doesn't go very far with them; it is not casual at all.

Hey yo, too much time on your hands boy! Instead of boring us with interpretation (seriously, why the fuck oh why??) why don't you do a Where are they now?" recap, investigating what happened to those people showed in the series?

That would be actually interesting. Like the guy who ended up running a Ponzi or the lady sleeping with Soros. We don't need no your interpret bro....

I got the rule from friends, but it's all over the internets obviously. We're about the same: the relationship has to at least get past an "ick" factor. The hef relationship is just dumb. But I disagree with urban dictionary. A relationship between a 30 year old and a college student seems harder than a 60 some year old and a 30 some year old. The latter is Mike Douglas and Zeta Jones and that marriage is considered the gold standard in Hollywood. Hershey's iq gets more there; age becomes less of a issue past 30 but there's got to be some genuine connection.

You rate Chopper but left out Ronin and DRW as upper bracket prop firms ? ( there are a few more you left out in Chicago alone )

Also, the futures and OTC trading firms will not require employees ( and traders are employees ) to make a deposit typically.

Finally, why use a silly 'reality' (ha !) series that aired in February of 2008 to make all of these sweeping value judgements. That's almost five years ago and those norms are history. In fact, those norms were history by the late summer of 2008.

  10. If you were a 'good-looking' 45 year old woman (which is a tiny minority of 40something women), you would struggle to land a guy 0-15 years older, because of competition from 20-30 something women who are much hotter, less jaded, less baggage, and capable of having kids. Even geriatric Soros later bagged a 20something Brazilian chick.

Your realistic choice would be between broke losers/desperation fucks nearer your own age, or interesting/high status/rich guys 15-20 years older or more, who don't need/want kids. Meeting Mr Perfect at that age is a 1 in 1000 shot.
