  1. IGolf,

An 11 part trading plan that has never been backtested is not a good idea. Yes it is good to have monetary limits when you are starting out but remember to tailor these to the volatility in each stock. A fixed $X stop can either be way too big or way too small depending on how many shares you have allocated. Also I think getting into this game without some demostrable edge (other than money management rules) is not prudent. At the very least paper trade those TI ideas (or trade extremely small) in the beginning.

If you're going to be discretionary I always find the following questions extremely helpful:

If holding a long position ask yourself ...

If I didn't have this position would I be short here?
If I didn't have this position would I be buying here?

This seperates you from your ego or defending your current position and can allow you to see things objectively.

  2. Big question ...

How much buying power are you big swinging youknowwhats throwing around to make this type of money?

I'm impressed by the performance. I am just curious as to what type of capital is required as well as measuring the efficiency of your trading.

    Keep up the great thread!

  3. well you can see the size I trade. 100 lots or less mostly....but my strategy is scalable. Since I play for big moves in individual names I could move size no prob.

  4. not a bad day here, I took Monday and Tuesday off and traded CPN for most of the day. I had one trade on LU for 150k that went away from me other than that it was a good day

How are you squeezing money from LU? Rebate trading?

  7. im scalping LU for a penny at a time on size. Its not that big of a deal the thing most of the time is locked for 20 minutes before it upticks and downticks. Its like getting out of the way of a tractor trailer in the middle of the desert, you can see it coming miles away. To do this type of trading you need very cheap commissions, that is why I only pay .0005 cents per share for OES (which is ISI basically) Ive been trading LU like this for years, other small listed stuff can be traded the same way i.e.
    ELN NT LU RAD CPN

  8. and before any asks these are non billable rates. I just make sure my orders are taken down before the 5 minutes ends. You need alot of volume to get these rates. I traded around 7 million shares alone on CPN today.

  9. Hilarious. 0005 per share? I do not see how these rates can be sustainable over the long run by any prop firm. But then, where would LU, NT, RAD and CPN be without the rebate trading monkeys.

I wonder where would you be if you had to pay .002 a share, which is still a very very low rate.

  10. now that u let it out, you're going to have 20-30 new guys renegotiate with their prop firms tomorrow, reconfigure their API's friday and join u on the bid/ask Tuesday! LOL
