  2. European style socialism, that is to say Democratic Socialism, is the least of our concerns. What seems to have happened is that Obama has drawn from an eclectic and bizarre mix of both European and African socialism.

When we really learn about Obama, what drives him, his inspirations and his motivations, it is the at very least to say, disturbing.

A European socialist state for all its ills has never abrogated the sanctity of the individual.African style socialism on the other hand is extremely communalistic, it takes its basis from traditional African community, where an individual is defined not by his actions but by the actions of his community, his village.

Much of this ideology was developed and synthesized by the African anti colonial fighters during the days of the British Empire. Among its adherents were many African academics. These included Julius Nyerere, Robert Mugabe and yes, Barack Obama Senior. This political philosophy was widely elucidated in the so called Arusha Declaration.

One of the central tenets of this ideology was to "villagize" the entire nation by turning it into a giant community, this was to be achieved by an uncontrolled expansion of the public sector permeating every facet of society. In this way,Africa would according to them reject the perceived cultural supremacy of the West, of Western colonialism and embark on a totally African way of organizing society.

This was known as the Ujamma, the socialist community paradise on earth.

The widest practitioner of this ideology was Julius Nyerere, later to become president of Tanzania. Another is the now notorious Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.Under his tenure, Tanzania turned from being the largest exporter of food in Africa to its largest importer. Many of the businessmen fled, including many Tanzanian Indians who later became very successful in the UK in the business, arts and culture.

At the end of his presidency, Nyerere admitted failure and said a life of poverty had become the common experience for his citizens.

Obama admitted in his book that he drew his inspiration from his father, a great believer in African Socialism. His father "talked to him" in his dreams. The conclusion that we can draw from this should serve as a severe warning to any sane individual.

Today in the modern world, there are only two developmental models that have been tried and tested to bring prosperity to societies. One is the Western capitalist model, the other is the East Asian developmental model. All others have been proven to bring its people into a state of perpetual penury.

    America, be warned.

I chose that old African proverb to title my book because it offers a timeless reminder that children will thrive only if their families thrive and if the whole of society ...

The recall heard round the world
    by Ann Coulter

I watched the Wisconsin returns on MSNBC Tuesday night, and it came right down to the wire between ¡°the Democrats were outspent 7-to-1¡å and ¡°Republicans are stripping union rights!¡± As we go to press it¡¯s still too close to call.President Obama wanted to go to Wisconsin, but he just didn¡¯t have time. He¡¯s been doing so many campaign fundraisers lately he barely has time to play golf.

The left¡¯s ¡°outspent¡± argument is ridiculous. Unions take money by force from members, hire hundreds of political operatives and give them salaries to work on campaigns, then call them ¡°volunteers¡± so their work isn¡¯t reported as a campaign contribution.

Luckily for them, government employees¡¯ non-punishing work schedules leave them plenty of time to be in a constant state of grievance, demanding recalls after any election they lose, and mobilizing voters.

This election had nothing to do with people being paid a fair wage for the work they do. The question is: Do you want a society where the people whose salaries you pay make more than those who pay them?

The Democrats will do anything the government unions ask, because (1) It¡¯s not their money they¡¯re spending, it¡¯s the taxpayers¡¯; and (2) Government unions reciprocate by making sure the Democrats keep getting re-elected.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is about to turn New York into Pottersville from ¡°It¡¯s a Wonderful Life¡± by legalizing gambling so he can keep paying the unions.

All manufacturing has been driven out of the state by high taxes ¡ª and by well-compensated government employees who make it impossible to do business in New York. The state¡¯s principal cash cow, New York City, is now entirely composed of a tiny slice of Wall Streeters and the people who serve them ¨C- personal trainers, doormen, maids, doctors, lawyers, restaurateurs and Keith Olbermann¡¯s cat groomer.

Outside of New York City, everyone works for the government. But there¡¯s no actual industry in the state. People are fleeing New York faster than Democrat legislators fled Wisconsin before a vote they were going to lose.

Soon it will be just another mid-range, dying state. If the financial sector ever leaves, New York City will be Detroit, which itself was once the nation¡¯s crown jewel metropolis.

So Cuomo¡¯s going to bring in casinos to save public sector salaries, perks and pensions. Democrats don¡¯t care that gambling destroys neighborhoods and ruins lives. They will do anything to keep government employees happy. They¡¯ll legalize drugs or sell body parts to keep paying off public sector workers.

There¡¯s a reason both FDR and labor leader George Meany said it would be insane to ever allow government employees to unionize. People who work for the government don¡¯t have a hard-driving capitalist boss on the other side of the bargaining table demanding more work for less pay.

No one is worried about the profit margin because there is no profit ¡ª it¡¯s government! Rather, the only people on the other side of the table are the unions¡¯ co-conspirators: Democratic politicians willing to spend the public treasury on union members, who will repay the politicians by mobilizing voters.

This is why Walker¡¯s victory Tuesday night was an amazing, miraculous, transformative event in the history of the nation.

Even the Terminator couldn¡¯t beat the government unions. In the dumbest move ever made by a politician, in 2005, two years into Arnold Schwarzenegger¡¯s first term, he called an off-year special election to enact a few minuscule reductions in public-sector union perks, such as making it humanly possible to fire bad teachers.

Even in a normal election year, initiatives curbing government employees¡¯ boondoggles are nearly impossible to get past the powerful unions.

But worse ¡ª as in Wisconsin ¡ª this was an off-year election. Unlike Wisconsin, however, it was Schwarzenegger¡¯s idea to hold a special election on the advice of his political consultant, Mike Murphy, the Bob Shrum of the Republicans.

Let¡¯s see, who would be likely to vote in an off-year election? We¡¯re going to cut your exorbitant benefits, require you to work, and make it easier to fire you, public employees. Do you have any interest in voting on that?

Anyone with half a brain could see disaster coming from a mile away. Even with the language barrier, Arnold should have seen it coming.

Within weeks, Tony Quinn, a California Republican consultant, stated categorically: ¡°The governor needs to cancel this special election, regardless of the political cost, because he¡¯s headed for a huge political defeat.¡±

But Schwarzenegger¡¯s adviser, Murphy, was brimming with confidence, dazzled by the governor¡¯s celebrity status. He gloated, ¡°He¡¯s still Arnold Schwarzenegger.¡± (Murphy never saw ¡°Twins.¡±)

Public sector unions spent a jaw-dropping $80 million to defeat Schwarzenegger¡¯s initiatives, portraying the governor as the enemy of cops, teachers, firefighters and ¡°people like us.¡±

Mike Murphy: ¡°I am confident we will win.¡±

In the end, union members turned out in droves on Election Day, defeating every single initiative. Everyone else in California woke up the next day and said, ¡°Hey, did you know there was an election yesterday?¡±

The failure of Schwarzenegger¡¯s propositions ended his governorship. From that day on, he became the Democrats¡¯ plaything.

The 2010 census marks the first time California has lost population since it became a state.

The decision to call an off-year special election to roll back public employees¡¯ perks will long be remembered as the all-time stupidest idea in political history. One hundred years from now it will still be studied at the Kennedy School of Government.

Wisconsin made history in a different way Tuesday night. As Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch said, the recall election will go down in the record books as the night ¡°the campaign to save America¡± began.

  5. All the crap aside, I will say something that pleased me, was the voter turnout. In my community a suburb of Milwaukee we had a 75% turnout. I wish everyone who is eligible would get off their fat whiny asses and get out and vote for every election. In our community the total for either side was more than normal turnout.
Regardless of your opinion, get out and vote! I have no sympathy for people that whine, but don't go out and vote their beliefs. Even if different from me, I say get out and vote.

    Well done!

I voted for one democrat in 2010, the first ever for me. But mostly for libertarians or independents I'd never heard of. I'm tired of politics and lies as usual.
Personally I'd like to see a clean seep of congress with NOT ONE career politician left in office. Hell I could live with a democrat majority if that's what it took to clean house. Virtually every problem/issue facing us today can be directly or indirectly traced back to congress or some bloated federal bureaucracy.

NOTHING is ever going to change unless the Boehner's, Pelosi's and Reid's of D.C. are ALL thrown out on their ears.

Then others like them will take their place. The framework itself has to change so that their behavior changes. For example, a balanced budget amendment will have profound effect on what these folks do up there. Systematic lying to get re-elected is harder to correct, but then again, for example, here comes the Tea Party and their monitoring of votes etc. The hardest of them all and the most destructive is buying votes with the public money and credit, something that Obama knows very well how to do... This trick will bury us if we don't do something major about it.

I'm all in favor of both. I'd like to see congressional term limits and all of the perks congress has awarded itself removed. Just for starters.

Just because the budget is balanced does not mean that the wealthy cannot continue to inequitably line their pockets with your money. No, they could, e.g., simply spend a lot less... on you.

What's wrong with being wealthy? Usually means that you are smarter and more dedicated than others. It also means that you pay most of the bills around here. These folks create wealth for everybody - you rob them of the fruit of their labor and you create unemployment and misery.

The libs are trying to make "wealthy" into a dirty word, which is stupid and they will not succeed. We need the smartest, most talented and most focused people of the globe to come here and stay here, enjoying their success.

You don't succeed by punishing and badmouthing the wealthy but by putting everybody to work, no free-loaders.
