Hey guys. Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I was trying to say that my code is completely hands off once it submits an order. That way I don't have to worry about power going out or internet going down or my 450 MHz beast of a CPU choking on Java. I haven't personally touched TWS except to check the balance and click the Yes button on the new "Accept incoming connection attempt?" dialog. I haven't calculated it, but my PF has to be like 10.0 or more right now. There were streaks that did backtest that well, but there were also streaks of 0.25 PFs. If I finish with a 2.0 PF or better overall I will be happy. Oh, I see. Maybe that's why this year's applications must make at least 25 trades. I'm OK there; I cleared 25 round trips during the first day I was running on the short time interval. Suffered my first loss in a while, but made it back up. Current balance = $120,000.
Had some trouble last night. I was below $115,000 at one point, but I'm doing a little better now. Just closed a successful sell order. Looks like I got lucky with the strong consumer sentiment report; price moved 25 pips in 10 minutes. Rather than risk carrying a trade over the weekend, I think I'm gonna shut down now. Overall, it has been a good week for me. Come Monday, look for Raleigh Cross (hopefully near the top) with a balance of 118,275.97 USD.
I am starting to think that he probablly has a very highly leverged and risky strategy, and his strategy probablly had an EXCEPTIONAL week this week... I would be highly surprised if his results continue at anywhere near their current pace... If they do, then as I said before VERY impressive.
Yes, definitely my strategy is risky. I'm investing my whole account at 20 times leverage. A single trade could change the balance anywhere from 1 to 5%. Obviously that's much more than I would risk with real money. But, I could, and still may, go as high as 40 times leverage without worrying about a margin call in the Olympiad. I will have to see where I'm at in the standings on Monday. This week was more or less an average week based on backtesting. But that's backtesting; who knows what the future holds. I'll try not to crash and burn. At any rate the competition is a lot of fun. princetontiger8 and everyone else participating (rateesquad and others from the old thread, please drop in and say hello!) I wish you good luck.
