...actually I trade in a bunker with 40 monitors, all with VR technology. The trading stage is hooked up to a simulator that moves the entire trading stage according to the market: if the market suddenly drops the whole thing pitches the unwary to the basement .... the last visitor to our trading room forgot to put on their trading harness and fell 2 stories to their daeth whern the dow dropped 100 points.........
It was very easy to setup a six screen environment. Use a headset with 80" virtual screen and 1280x1024 resolution. Put all windows on the one screen. Works great and no monitor clutter. I've been using this headset with the see through option so I can do other things without removing the headset. http://www.vrealities.com/visette45.html Probably going to use this for all my systems since it works so well.
I hate when that happens. Those trading harnesses can be so undependable. Kidding aside, fascinating thread.
thanks acrary - good value considering the resolution! i'll be checking out the himax see-thru one next week http://www.himaxdisplay.com.tw/en/product/virgo.htm , cheaper but not sure the reso will be good enough for a 6-screen type set-up but i only need 4 screens max at any one-time, thinking of using a multiple desktop / windowing soft otherwise... also found this link, some interesting info... http://come.to/microdisplay (scroll down a bit) cheers!
careful.... the 'cometomicrodisplay...' link i provided seems to be 'bugged' unless u have a muscled pop-up blocker...
