I watched about 10 mins of the video, and I get the fun of it. That all is NOTHING compared to the shitstorm that would ensue if they would show some of the older "All in the Family" episodes on prime time. The world as a whole would explode in rage now. Different times.
Actually, they do. Just not on the major networks. Shocking, I know. Sanford & Son, too. Haven't seen The Jeffersons though.
You're welcome to bitch and moan all you want, it's your right. I just don't understand people expecting a private company to put up w/your opinions or even pay you for them. You want a legitimately uncensored platform with unmoderated, illicit, and illegal content, join the creeps at 4chan. See how long you last. All I ask is you keep the government out of it, as I see some libertarian "champions" like Rogan pushing for government intervention. Don't like what youtube, facebook, (insert latest boogie man) is doing? It's a free market. Learn to code, go out there, and seize the day.
Yes, I have seen the reruns on the cable channels. But God forbid they put them on ABC, NBC or CBS during the primetime hours of 6PM to 9PM. The world would be doomed.
Yup. I don't understand why people think that free speech must apply to a private company. If the company must abide by a government, then the shit ain't private! Folks, sites like Facebook and Instagram are private companies! You do not have any constitutional right to anything about them! WTF! If you think you do, you were never breast-fed by your mother.
//////////// I agree, your welcome to piss and moan all you want, and FB, Youtube, and GOOG are fully within their rights to do this kind of stuff, BUT, the question is whether or not this will lead to a more healthy situation, where debate and open ideas are encouraged..... I think its pretty obvious where this is going, and its not healthy... When historians are getting banned so that sissies "feelings" arent hurt, we have a legitimate problem.
meh, we've done OK for millenia without the internet as a form of communication. I see the biggest "health" risk relying on the internet as a form of communication.
I get your point but it ain't exactly that simple. The government already views FB, Youtube and Google as threat because they feel they wield too much power. The companies are not exactly making these censorship decisions in a vacuum. Make no mistake about it, there are A LOT of people in government who are looking to cut these companies down to size. Most the censorship is coming as a result of fear of government regulation, and they feel if they self regulate the government won't go after them. It is not going to matter though, the government is going to go after them regardless. Count on it.
