I think, I could be wrong, that if you look into this is terms of timing, you will find that Federal help for NY was either very late in coming or was attenuated in certain ways that were illogical. Eventually help would arrive, when any further delays would have been a little too obvious. You'd probably find the same pattern regarding federal help for California. Florida would be a good State to compare to. I don't have any data backing my hunch, just the pattern of Trump's vindictive behavior. If we looked closely enough there is a high probability we would find the same behavior even in Trump the child. Vindictiveness is a component of his sociopathic narcissism.

As an example, before Trump was elected, Obama cracked a few jokes at Trump's expense. Trump has ever since gone out of his way to undo everything that Obama did in whatever way he could and not miss any opportunity to compare himself favorably to Obama. This will continue until Trump's last breath. Neither New York's nor California's governor has been complimentary of Trump in the past, and they can expect little help from Trump, unless Trump politically has no other option, until they recant and sing Trump's praises...under the current dire circumstances they may be forced to do just that.

  4. Problem is, Trump wasn't listening to the experts and his intelligence people until the cat was already out of the bag.

  5. Being true then the best way is to beat him in November, not by endless hearings which are meaningless because they are not going to impeach him again are they?

Keep all the receipts for the ways Dem feels he fucked this up, he has plenty of tweets and press conference comments. I could make an ad right now showing a doctor in a ward with beds in the hallways pleading for more PPE or assistance and then cut to Trump saying "We are getting great ratings!"

Should be easy to put together a whole string of ads showing how he fumbled this and win in November...Pelosi's tactic is not the way.

The Secret Service signed an 'emergency order' this week — for 30 golf carts

The Secret Service signed an "emergency order" this week to rent $45,000-worth of golf carts in the town of Sterling, Virginia, where President Trump has a golf course, The Washington Post reports. The 30-cart fleet, which the Secret Service is renting through the end of September, was described as being necessary in order to protect a "dignitary," although the president was not explicitly referenced by name.

Surprisingly, while many nonessential businesses around the country have closed to prevent the spread of disease, Virginia's Trump National Golf Club remains open. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) allowed for golf courses to continue to operate so long as golfers keep a six-foot distance from others. The Virginia club is a favorite of the president's; he has visited it 76 times since taking office, most recently in October.

The Post notes that Trump has not played golf since March 8, when there were still only about 500 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. and 21 deaths, most of which were concentrated at a nursing home in Washington State. In a statement, Secret Service spokesperson Cathy Milhoan clarified that the "emergency" contract referred specifically to "a need for expedited handling of the procurement due to deadlines within the agency's business processes."

  7. Based on his performance, there should be oversight of his conduct, and hearings if there is any evidence of blatant disregard or questionable conduct. Sunshine, disinfectant, and all that. To hell with the politics. There is an idiot at the helm.

agreed, if it doesn't curb the mismanagement due to GOP obstruction & by extension save lives, they can dig fodder to feed the media.

  9. That would not be even close to being done before the election so it would distract resources and take away from actually achieving what Dems want, and that is him voted out.

Biden has to get out there and ditch the far left agenda and figure out how to make a case for the general public from immigration to health care to jobs and there are softball answers out there he can throw out and win despite his Grandpa bumbling. I hope the Dems learned something from 2016 but so far...nah.

  10. November? The problem with looking too far ahead is that sometimes you miss the potholes right in front of you. There is a crisis right now. Right now, you guys need a leader who is on the ball, or at least one with adequate adult supervision ("oversight").
