volume rebates in futures ?

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by SethArb, Feb 12, 2006.

  1. I would like to ask if anyone has heard of the
    exchanges ( i.e. CME , CBOT ) giving traders
who are non members doing good volume
some sort of rebate deal through their broker ?

by my having done heavy volume ( for me )
in the products I am trading this month
my fees are about as low as they can go
for non member ... unless I do 5-10 times
my current volume by the end of the month

    for example I think I am doing 5 -10 %
of the tonights volume in the products I am
trading on the futures exchange and
would think the exchange should be happy
to see their volume go up because of me

I know ... somebody will tell me I qualify for
a free pen with the exchange logo on in
in which to write my notes but I would hope their
is more to it than that

( of course I am now sure to get a few PM from reps
of brokers who would love to have me clear
through them but for now I am happy where
    I am )

    :p

Why don't you just lease a membership? I'm sure if your volume is heavy, the memberships will pay for themselves in no time.

I think Okwon is right. I've helped guide a few clients in obtaining different classes of membership. It's great if you're trading one specific market, or at least trading on one exchange. I know you're not really shopping for another broker right now, but feel free to get in touch and I'll try to help you anyway. Maybe you'll decide to work with me in the future.

Other than obtaining a membership, I've never heard of the exchanges giving a volume break on their fees to non-members.
